Short bio of the team

_XV0dsjG_400x400
BnoiitC is one of the earliest NFT/Cryptoart collectors in France and an active and influential member of the international Cryptoart and Metaverse communities since then. In 2018, he founded the Museum of Cryptoart (MoCA), a metaverse native museum where he manages and curates MoCA permanent collection. He is a major contributor in the recent developments of the NFT art scene in France. He and Albertine Meunier teach NFTs / cryptoart to cultural officers of the French Ministry of Culture.
see MoCA on Cryptovoxels 2

albertine
Since 1998, Albertine Meunier explores the essential poetry and esthetics of the networks. She cultivates simple, minimal forms, which may sometimes appear to be tinkered from scratch, but she intentionally distances herself from the hyper-technicity of some digital artworks. Albertine leads us on a playfully, impertinently and drolly poetic journey.
She is also a digital art advisor for l’Avant Galerie Vossen.

brian
Arthemort just graduated from Sotheby’s Institute of Arts. Born and raised in an art collection, he’s been following the evolutions of blockchains synergies with the art world since 2017. He’s worked in galleries, auction houses, art communications agency and blockchain/art startup. He also has a certification in Art History from Sotheby’s Institute of Arts, an Art Market Analyst, an Art & Finance and an Art & Tech certification from ArtTactic.**

pailhon
Jean-Michel Pailhon is Chief of Staff at Ledger, the world’s leading security company for crypto-assets and NFTs. He is a Street art collector since 2005, an Art gallerist in Paris and a compulsive NFT art collector since 2020, specifically focused on NFT Photography. He is currently working with many entrepreneurs in the tech and NFT space to help the NFT scene grow and scale in France and Europe.

G4SP4RD is an early collector of cryptoart. He likes exploring new NFT concepts and innovative collections regardless of the blockchain or NFT category. He is also project manager dedicated to NFT at Ledger and therefore has an excellent understanding of blockchain technology and how NFT actually works behind the scene. He has been collecting NFT everyday since he fell down the rabbit hole early 2020.

Lucie-Eleonore aka Cecinestpasleo is the CEO and co-founder of FauveParis, a French auction house. She’s committed to the crypto art revolution and has already organized several events with main actors of the NFT French scene, artists and collectors, to question the revolution in progress. She’s the co-host of a French NFT podcast L’Art du NFT and is used to select, promote and diffuse artworks and artists, in France and worldwide.

Manifesto of our Space

  • Promotion of the emerging French Cryptoart Scene – Focus on early cryptoart aesthetic and themes.
  • New French Touch Space will be a combination of a digital and physical place to highlight French digital creation, with a pinch of French spirit, not necessarily limited to French artists.

We are revolutionaries! If there is a Gatekeeper to be beheaded, here we come!

As a nation, France has led the way for societal revolution to be adopted (sometimes a bit forcefully i’ll admit it) but ideas and artists freedom have been celebrated throughout history. We believe French creators have once again a role to play during the blockchain revolution that is on its way. We could be protectors of the original ideal of the blockchain by being curator of what represents the fundamentals of crypot art as a movement.

Financiarisation of art is unavoidable but the philosophication of NFT should be considered more for the long term perspective of the fantastic art created on the blockchain. The work of rationalisation of the different movements composing NFTs should give it all of its legitimacy in mainstream culture.

If art is THE thing that will help blockchain get into the “real” world and reach mainstream media then there isn’t any nation more experienced in artistic, societal and cultural revolution than France ! If you want NFT to be considered as “real art” by the everyday folk then let us lead the way.

In december 2021, Benoit organized and curated “Cryptoart Revolution”, the 1st French event focused on cryptoart.

“Cryptoart Revolution” consisted of:

  • An exhibition of emblematic works of cryptoart, from the permanent collection built since 2018 by MoCA
  • Capsule exhibitions of emerging and confirmed crypto artists, invited by the MoCA on this occasion. The public could buy these NFT works on site.
  • Conferences and debates which allowed visitors to better understand the Cryptoart / NFT market, its players and its challenges.
  • Workshops that concretely helped interested artists and art lovers to enter the world of Cryptoart / NFT. Visitors, artists or future collectors learned how to create their cryptocurrency wallet and create an NFT.

Over 400 people attended Cryptoart Revolution’s private opening and all the conferences and workshops were sold out many weeks in advance.

New artists we would like to bring into the Space in the first six months

The French crypto art scene is rich of many digital and traditional artists, OG crypto artists, inventors and other experimentator at the crossroad of art and technology. We have a few ideas of whom we shall be collaborating with but we’d like to keep this secret for now.

Most are artists that are well known among the french crypto art scene and NFT community but deserve to be better known abroad. Artists that members of the team themself have collected work from and/or worked with, some of which members of the teams knows personally.

Many are cross-medium working with traditional media, like musicians, painters and sculptors and innovatively porting it in NFTs, others work with AI, generative algorithms, 3D, interactive art, projection mapping, and robotics, we’ll have conceptual artists, illustrators, satirists, photographers, designers, of a broad range of aesthetic and genra all have a unique artistical universe we’d like you to discover.

We’ll assure, through collegeal governance, that we’ll provide an inclusive environment with a fair opportunity to all artists regardless of their difference of age, gender or origin.

The importance of NFTs as a medium/technology

NFT is disrupting the Art market to an extent that is still not yet fully understood. It is also a strong driver for a significant art renaissance led by new artists bringing a new energy to the art space.

NFTs are a very big change for digital artists, allowing them to finally make a living from their art. A lot of artists still need to be initiated into the crypto area scene. The Space can be a very big highlight for the french artists scene, showing them the power of the NFTs.

On the other side, becoming an art collector has never been so easy. It’s such a democratic contact with art. But, the crypto art scene can be a bit opaque when you start.

In five years, the Cryptoart space will be as normal as an Amazon order, as huge as the creation is, as powerful as the Blockchain is!

If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

BnoiitC
A surprising dish in a trendy boutique Paris restaurant

Albertine
A Croque Monsieur ! with a glass of Ruinart RosĂŠ

Arthemort:
prop 1: If it was a cocktail it would be a Bloody Mary, a cocktail that could have only be created in the roaring 20’s when Paris was a place for artist over the world to express their liberty, and if for Ernest Hemingway this expression was a weird tomato base alcoholic cocktail, then so be it ! It’s weirdly yummy, you gotta admit it.

prop 2: if it was a beverage it would of course be a wine, an alcoholic beverage with a well recognized tradition and a complexity composed of tens of factors to consider. Some wine may elevate the experience of food in a way you couldn’t have imagine.

prop 3: If it was a dish it would be a loaf of bread, a dish that has been the basis of alimentation for thousands of years and that we still have yet to finish to innovate in its creation process and variances. The chef from the world’s best restaurant couldn’t think of not serving a top quality bread to go with his main course.

prop 4: If it was a cake it would be a macaron, delicate, pretty and widely appreciated, macaron have been known by foreigner through their classical flavor popularised by Ladurée but you’ll be surprised how many chef like Pierre Hermé have revolutionised it by proposing a seemingly weird new mix of flavor like a macaron au foie gras.

Anything else you’d like the community to consider?

France has a tradition of aesthetics that is recognized worldwide. Many skilled animators, illustrators, graphic designers, conceptor, in top studios and agencies like pixard are French.

France host some of the most innovative project in the technological field especially in AI, robotics, energy, transport, blockchain regulation, and metaverses. The tradition of innovation is century old, with early example of invention in aeronautics, aerospatial, cinema, network communication, miniaturisation, ect.

The democratic ideal lifted by DAO is also at heart of the spirit of the French nation and the ideas of the lumière, the human right declaration and the concept of laicity being one of the earliest concepts of inclusivity adopted by a society as a whole.

French or based in France artists like Moebus (an illustrator) and Vera molnar were pioneers of genre like generative art and have influenced pop culture, sci-fi and fantasy beyond imagination. The relative importance of French contemporary artists has always been undermined in comparison to their American peers, in the era of decentralisation it would be important not to reproduce the same mistakes.

Many now consider bluechip artists in NFT that you probably know are French and influenced by this culture and its references in their creative process.

The French NFT environment is thrilling with many teams backing top selling projects, and well known collectors backing it, IRL events and exhibitions have already taken place.

This space should be an accelerator for artists, collectors and developers to connect and build further what makes French creation so unique.

The NFT French scene is currently emerging and the New French Touch Space team is part of many ongoing projects involving French artists and institutional players.

We feel this is the right time, with the launch of New French Touch, to give shape to the emerging French Cryptoart scene and a unique opportunity for SuperRare to take the lead in this territory and extend its global footprint.

This is also a critical turn for historic cryptoart actors like SuperRare to keep momentum and maintain their lead while prestigious, deep pocket, well established traditional art players are still trying to figure out how to catch up and invest the space, capitalizing on their physical territorial presence and IRL network.

New French Touch also has the ambition to set standards for future territorial SuperRare Spaces and will be happy to share experiences with future Space candidates.

  1. Summary/manifesto of your Space (~500 words). What is your unique value prop/elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

The Joy of NFTs will serve as a space to open the conversation between artists, collectors, and members of the NFT community. The show has a unique concept where the community participates in selecting the theme of every episode. On each episode, you will not only enjoy interesting conversations but also get a glimpse into the artistic process of creating an NFT. Each artist will have 10 minutes to do a sketch and walk the audience through their creative process.

Each show will feature artists and collectors in the NFT space.
We’ll showcase the talents of all artists—from hungry up-and-comers to established veterans—as they show how they create their masterpieces. Whether it’s motion graphics, 3D, sculpture, photography, or any other field of art, we want to show how they make their NFTs.
Lastly, the show will give back to the community by dedicating a percentage of every sale to the person who submits the theme of the episode.

It’s also very important to us that we bridge the gap between the Spanish-speaking world and NFTs. To accomplish this, we’ll have Latin and Spanish speakers and artists on the show to spread knowledge about the NFT space. We want to embrace the history of Latin cultures while also bringing new information to communities worldwide.

The Joy of NFTs will educate, entertain and inspire artists and creators around the world.

  1. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:

In 2021, we’ve curated pieces for Sotheby’s Metaverse exhibit featured along with collectors such as 888, Steve Aoki, Mondoir, Paris Hilton, Pranksy, PleasrDAO, and many others.

In the past year, NFTGirl has grown to over 86k followers across all social media platforms. In 2021, we reached 2 million impressions among an audience of artists, collectors, and entrepreneurs in the web 3 space.

In the works for the remainder of 2022 is the growth of multiple accounts including:

• The Joy of NFTs show on YouTube
• Twitter Spaces
• The NFTGirl podcast on Spotify (and all other streaming platforms)
• NFTGirl Instagram
• NFTGirl Tik Tok Page

All these platforms will work together to showcase the art of upcoming artists and established creatives in the space.

  1. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

NFTGirl currently organizes weekly digital events covering informational topics, networking opportunities, and community meetups.

In addition to Sotheby’s Auction, 2021 was filled with opportunities to network. We are always connecting with collectors and creators of the space through twitter spaces, direct messages, and face-to-face events. Web3 conferences like NFT-NYC, SXSW, NFT LA, Art Basel Miami, Bitcoin Miami are a few of the events that have allowed interactions between NFTGirl, collectors, and artists.

We will also be involved in curating art for NFTLiverpool, a new interactive art exhibit, sponsored by TIME, Rug Radio, and Adelia Art Gallery.

  1. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

We would like to bring up artists that are part of the NFTGirl Collection as well as new artists. NFTGirl maintains a relationship with them as a collector or as an admirer of their work.

  1. Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with? Have they committed to participating yet?

So far, we have confirmed participation from artists like Aeforia, DeeKayMotion, Oelhan, Emonee LaRussa, Lisa Odette, Jakob LR, Chad Torkelson, Coldie, Parrot, Oscarasecas, Laurie Greasley, Hashmukh Kerai, Atlaude, Adrian Belastegui, Oxeegeno, UntitledArmy, OtherWorld and received over 300 applications from NFT artists that would like to participate.

  1. If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?
As soon as we have access to Space, we can start dropping finished pieces from the show.

  2. Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

On each episode of The Joy of NFTs Show, we connect with artists and influential community members to create NFTs live! The whole experience is interactive with the audience.

A breakdown of The Joy of NFTs:

  • We ask fans on Twitter to submit their choice for a word to inspire that week’s creation.

    • Words can be as intuitive as “beach” or as ambiguous as “treachery”; each artist must create a piece inspired by this word.
  • Once the artists finish their pieces, we film the reveal and the NFTs will be added to the SuperRare Space Gallery.

    • Once minted they will be available for purchase and the proceeds will be split between the artists, community, and The Joy of NFTs.
    • Each episode and piece will be promoted on all social platforms and podcasts.
  • New Episodes are released every Friday on YouTube (The Joy of NFTs - YouTube)

  1. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

Primary Sale:
80% for the artist
14% for The Joy of NFTs Show
5% for SuperRare
1% for the community member

  1. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

NFTs are the building blocks for a next-generation digital world. In 5 years, I see society using NFTs as proof of ownership for all types of assets including art, real estate, collectibles, events tickets, documents, etc. Some of the largest video game companies are already experimenting with NFTS and in half a decade we’ll see gamers own their digital items and participate and get rewarded in digital economies. Web3 is all about transparency, decentralization, and empowering the people. NFTs allow creators of all industries and of all backgrounds to benefit from their work without relying on a middle man.

  1. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

If The Joy of NFTs was a dish it would be a Pabellon.
image

Pabellon is a traditional Venezuelan dish comprised of rice, shredded beef, plantains and black beans. Just like Pabellon, the Joy of NFTs is authentic and inclusive.

  1. Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

We hope to continue to support artists in the NFT space with everything we do. We believe that hosting our gallery on SuperRare will allow us to give the best platform to the top artists and a better solution for the stars of tomorrow.

With access to thousands of content creators in the gaming industry, along with our experience in 2D traditional arts, all of the work presented by Realdream is at the intersection of cutting edge patented technology and traditional media to create epic meaning.

  • We curate with purpose. Our core team is made of lifelong practitioners who are both creative and impact-driven to communicate stories and truths of humanity’s spiritual influences. We bring a balanced circle of expertise of over 15+ years in the film and gaming industry, diversity and inclusion through the arts, independent curating, and our own spiritual journeys to create a holistic collective of creators.

  • A Proof-of-Concept for Spaces actually began with our SuperRare exhibit Transform. We value a critical approach to allyship and inclusion, and bring that into our curatorial decisions… Our genesis collection in collaboration with SuperRare called Transform, for Native American heritage month, we emphasized healing our relationships together through international and indigenous artists side-by-side uplifting their own authentic stories. In partnership with the Canadian Consulate, National Chief Archibald, Senator McCallum, and artists across the USA and Canada, we were able to create real change through the power of authentic self-determined artist storytelling + the need for mutually beneficial and respectful relationships amongst diverse creators on this land we benefit from

  • We believe in paying it forward, and for November 2021 Transform gave 10% of its earnings to a Youth-Reconciliation initiative in Canada called 4rsyouth.ca.

The last few years we have actively been building our creative and professional expertise to create a powerful intersection - how can our technically talented creators can create meaningful works that convey the holistic spirit of humanity. Blockchain is here to help us show our art & grow our community internationally. We are big believers of web3 and want to be part of this revolution that will change our future and connections between machine and human species.

  1. Summary/manifesto of your Space (~500 words). What is your unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

We are continuously asking ourselves: whose story is being told, and how?

We want to leverage the power that the entertainment industry has on telling stories and narratives, to uplift meaningful messages. Our promise is that the spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental dimensions of our artists should come alive through our art. We want to transform the industries we come from, by ensuring we create content that document with dignity the holistic stories of humanity on the Blockchain.

We will:

  1. CREATE EPIC + EXCELLENT 1/1s Continuously uplift and curate voices from the gaming and film industries, partnered with our traditional artists, to tell powerful stories through high quality, rare collectible 1/1s

  1. TO DELIVER MULTI-INDUSTRY UTILITY; artworks will have unique utility in music, gaming, and film industries. They provide owners access to unique functionality in indie games, multiverse music concert experiences, or unlock unique features in the storytelling of affiliated productions.

  1. AND CURATE HEALING THROUGH ART: We believe artists drive the story of our society. Our curated Transform exhibit will continue to uplift artists to tell their story to lead the healing of our society. A percentage of works will always pay it forward to those best positioned to deliver community-driven needs in youth leadership and arts entrepreneurship.

We create epic and excellent 1/1s with powerful stories, to deliver multi-industry utility, and curate a healing space through art.

  1. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork: Showing our artwork

We have had extensive experience in marketing projects and initiatives in the traditional film, gamining, art show, and non-profit marketing platforms… However, most relevant for this application is our approach to marketing our genesis drop on SuperRare, Transform.

  1. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

We have had extensive experience in marketing projects and initiatives in the traditional film, gamining, art show, and non-profit marketing platforms… However, most relevant for this application is our approach to marketing our genesis drop on SuperRare, Transform.

. For the last collection released on Superrare, we used a hybrid marketing to launchTransform’s curated collection.

  • Digital marketing mixing physical marketing

  • physical artwork

  • artwork stickers with QR codes posted all over Los Angeles.

  • We created awareness and connected also on social media by creating a server on discord.

  • But most important, the connection on twitter space was a step further for the collection. People started becoming curious and engaged behind the idea of our collection that centered voices of Indigenous creators, in partnership with international creators.

  • We had the chance to do a live talk on youtube with AFN National Chief Archibald in Canada, and the Superrare team to talk about inclusion and the strong message behind this collection

  • We launched this genesis collection as an auction during thanksgiving to have a meaningful message. We sold 4/8 artworks at 2ETH each.

.

  1. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

Yes! We have a strong relationship to a range of creators. With over 15 years experience working with top Hollywood artists and creators such as Guillermo del Toro, Tim Miller, Sam Raimi and james Cameron, and creating cinematics for some of the top video games franchises of all time. Examples include, but are not limited to: Kino (art director for several Hollywood blockbusters), Julia (ex Blur creator and now at Pixar), Michael (ex Blur and now lead creator at Nvidia), Jordan (Digital Creator + NGO in development for children’s art education in Nepal)

We will begin by leveraging these connections and trusted relationships with top Game Studios, Hollywood Film Production Companies and developers, and pair them alongside traditional 2D creators. We will want to build up and onboard more Transform collaborators like Love Supay https://www.instagram.com/lovesupay/

Our drops will bridge these industries and bring them together to create meaningful art with epic meaning.

  1. Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with? Have they committed to participating yet?

While we have longstanding relationships with artists, digital creators, and the film + gaming industries, we are early in building our relationships with established CryptoArt artists, and are building trust and friendship with those we admire to ID our strongest areas of synergy.

  1. If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

We are ready to launch quickly. We have been busy building the behind the scenes relationships to launch strong. Our first exhibition will be ready 3 weeks after getting selected. We are ready to put in all efforts needed and show what we are capable of as a team of creators and artists. We connected with different NFT galleries in Los Angeles, CA and would be able to display our art into one of these and create more awareness on social media as well.

  1. Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

We will start with once a month releases, 10 artworks a month spread across our initiatives. Promotion will be through our industry leads and our team member Nicholas has a massive PR machine behind him to assist us.

1. REALDREAM UNREAL SERIES:

We pair artists from the traditional 2D world with our 3D artists to create powerful collaborations that tell a spiritual, emotional, physical story.

These exhibits would be a hybrid Physical + Virtual art interaction. Planning to host physical galleries in LA and Rome that will showcase both physical art and INTERACTIVE digital pairings. We are developing custom technology based on game engines to create NFT technology that can let the audience interact and “drive” the digital work

2. TRANSFORM series:

Model the power of Allyship and mutual respect by showcasing diverse artists uplifting their own authentic story, and how our relationships with each other can heal through art and diversity.

3. ROGUEWAVE CONCERTS: NFT SERIES:

Storytelling combined with epic musical composers, opera performances, and musicians. Our SuperRare NFTs use our artistic skills with breathtaking cinematics that give access to excellent music, composers from epic films, etc.

  1. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

We would structure commission rates by giving[a][b][c][d][e]:

  • 75% for the artist
  • 15% for the space team
  • 5% charity ID’ed by community
  • 5% Superrare treasury

Resale royalty:

  • 80% for the artist
  • 10% for space team
  • 5% charity
  • 5% Superrare treasury
  1. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

Will be the industry standard: public records of official certificate of authenticity for valuable items. Digital pairings with physical assets (artwork, products, etc) will be the gold standard. The most valuable digital records (nfts) will have the most artistry and skill.

  1. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

Mezcal negroni - smoky and international, sweet and pretty with a lot of depth. High end, luxurious, with earthy complexity. The intersection of international blending luxurious quality, with a powerful epic punch. Of course, all in the name of a mission that creates change.

  1. Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

We have absolutely loved working with SuperRare and its team on DEI, and are excited to take it to the next level. We are loving our fellow Space submissions, and we are enthusiastic to build with each other side by side, to bring vision and passion into our Web3 space together. We promise to be a healing and inspirational contribution to the collective!

To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?
NFTs are of prime importance for a number of reasons, most notably because of the authenticity and secondary sales they provide to artists. They also offer a new way of creating utility among salespeople and fostering the relationship between creator and collector. We see the cryptoart space spanning all industries and found in everyday physical spaces. It is only a matter of time before this technology expands and is accepted by the mainstream audience. We aim to lead this introduction with an emphasis on education and positivity, which will ensure the longevity and continued expansion of the industry.

7. Summary/manifesto of your Space (~500 words). What is your unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

Our process is centered around facilitating the dream project of our collaborating artists. It is quite straight forward as we constantly look for interesting artists and give them the opportunity to develop their own dream project.

We always commit financially through upfront payment and royalties to give the artist good and fair conditions to work from. The key for us is to provide an environment for the artist to be free to think, get inspired, passionate and have enough time to create something extraordinary.

We focus on an emerging world of art. Created by artists frequently hired by the entertainment studios for their exceptional talent and skills in visualizing the genres of Fantasy, sci-fi, comics, fan-art and mythical etc. Due to the fact that their work becomes entertainment rather than art, it is difficult to put a value on their knowledge and talent.

Our vision is therefore to make their skills accessible to collectors and connoisseurs and to help create a permanent niche for these highly talented artists in the artworld.

8. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:

We have established relationships with professionals from all over the world. This includes young upcoming artists as well as established household names.

We have developed a collaborative model where the work belongs to the artist. It’s as simple as that. We commission art mainly to ensure that there is a healthy development process and that the work being done is fairly reimbursed and on terms that we set up from a mutual understanding. We are not actively seeking ownership but rather trying to create a symbiosis where both the studio and the artist have a balanced sharing of the outcome. This means that sharing of potential IP and agreed royalties are based on and reflected by the setup collaboration, always in favor of the artist.

9. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

We are a young creative studio. However, with an extensive background in digital marketing, high profile event organization, social media campaigns, environmental research project guidance and fine art printing.

10. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

We are already in a creative process with the artists below and their work is already complete or entering into its final stages.

Waveloop

Olivier Vatin

John Royle

Louis & Senayo

11. Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with? Have they committed to participating yet?

We are in discussions with a number of additional artists, including those already in the nft’s space as well as newcomers.

12. If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

2-3 weeks after acceptance.

13. Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

Monthly releases of unique digital offerings. Number of items per launched collection will vary from a single item to a larger series of motifs.

14. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

When minting the NFT, our works are in a sense already entering the secondary market from the artists point of view since our model compensates the artists even before the initiation of the creative process.

Nevertheless, the proceeds from all sales on Super Rare is a 50/50 profit split

15. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

Creative freedom = Great art. We aim to aid a modern creative renaissance.

NFT’s as a medium can serve to strengthen the bond between artists and their fanbase/buyers and allow for community based co-ownership.

16. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

Recipe 1628: Vanishing Ravioli.

This is one of Ferran Adrias most famous recipes from the iconic molecular restaurant “El Bulli”.

Excuisite, Rare, Evocative and Futuristic!

17. Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

Today, in well-written sci-fi novels, it is liberating how the authors manage to describe a multicultural world, where race, skin color, religion, political affiliation and ideological conviction are included as a completely natural part of the individual, but the story is never based on these individual differences but on the person and his deeds and that is where the story lies, that is where we form an opinion. Just as it should be.

CryptoArg is an Argentinian art collective that thrives to find the most unique and unexpected artistic expressions within the cryptoart space. We represent an ethereal network that promotes CREATION, COOPERATION AND EXCHANGE OF KNOWLEDGE between artists. As a geolocalized community, we are based on the collaboration and articulation of regional creative potential. We seek to link the abstract and power of the cryptoart world with the materiality of the physical circuits inhabited by the affective, sanguine, carnal and desiring bodies that form the community, in order to enhance the possibilities of the expressiveness.

7. Summary/manifesto of your Space (~500 words). What is your unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

Between the edges of an enormous and distant space, a series of people dwell in the terrible randomness of their convergence. Almost like extremophile life forms, they are linked by the particularities of an area as vast as it is austere. At least five of their main centers of interaction and activity are surrounded by the pampean plain, an overwhelmingly flat and bucolic extension, fertile land of mystery and the absurd, of romantic terror, of the contradictory fantastic.

In that collision between the possible and the impossible, the unexpected emerges, the strange forces that color any expression that pop up from that space. CryptoArg presents itself from that territory and cultural code, trying to focus on the features that open to more ideas instead of closing or defining us. Its space will be thought of as an editorial exercise that addresses the unprecedented proliferation of images, artistic production and expressive power that the cryptoart circuit fosters, and that in turn explores an artistic framework given in a regional specific context, in which unexpected art forms abound.

From a fictional device, we propose to decode a particular narrative, whose axis is given in syncretism. A fundamentally mutant and adaptive narrative will be our guide to go through a heterogeneous and prolific production, to present unique artists and to generate all kinds of internal articulations within the community, but which in turn can be linked to external actors or agents. The space will be exclusive mostly to Southamerican, Argentinian artists and special guests, giving local artists the opportunity to provide deeper context of their unique vision.

8. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:

Our seasoned heterogenous team, with years of metaverse know-how, has a vast grid of connections in the crypto space (artists, platforms, curators and collectors), and also in the traditional art world.

One of the latest achievements of CryptoArg was building a virtual museum on Decentraland and organizing exhibitions in collaboration with M0ca. We produced a massive physical exhibition (No existe tierra mĂĄs allĂĄ, Dezember 2021) where +30 artists from the community showed their work, and was visited by over 800 people. CryptoArg has its own network of social media accounts and discord, that give platform to the participating artists.

9. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

CryptoArg has dropped massive and disrupting collaborations on Nifty Gateway and Async (“Sins”, “Chaos”, “Siempre En Otra Parte” and “Habitación Sur”), bringing together more than 50 thriving artists and their heterogeneous vision. All of our drops are creative interpretations with the individual perspective of each artist where we emphasize craft, innovation and experimentation.

10. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

Our collective is composed of more than 200 members and our main objective is to create bonds between Argentinian and Southamerican artists, focusing on bringing underappreciated artists to the spotlight.

We joined together to share information, resources and collaborate in the NFT space with each other, with other communities and with artists in the cryptosphere. Our ethos is to share, support and fulfill the nft world with interesting and beautiful art.

CryptoArg also has a minting fund program that has been supporting emerging artists with their drops actively.

11. Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with? Have they committed to participating yet?

Our collective is rendered with a vast variety of seasoned and emerging cryptoartists, willing to work together, re-evaluate art conventions, explore creativity and alternatives to traditional methods of creation.

12. If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

Based on the knowledge we have about the production of the artists in the community, the previous work together and the relationship built, we would be ready to launch our first edition one month after being selected.

13. Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

The space will be built from an editorial identity, presenting at least one monthly proposal, following the premise of working from the decoding of local narratives, their fantastic and unexpected character, to explore in each edition different themes and styles within the production inside CryptoArg. Our proposal is to build bridges between the divergences that make up our community, to give visibility and an enabling context to both emerging and established artists.

We have a long history in the cryptoart ecosystem, we know its participants as well as they know us. Our strategy is to make the space a meeting place for artists, and between artists and collectors. And the proceeds will be part of the CryptoArg fund, with which we carry out different actions for the benefit of the community.

14. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

Artist: 85%

Cryptoarg: 10%

SuperRare DAO: 5%

15. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

NFTs represent a revolution that has been a long time coming, a major shift in culture and modern technology, meaningful intellectual property and extraordinary community.

It is important to underline the impact NFTs are having on emerging economies such as the Argentinian, where the economy is unstable and constantly in recession.

Therefore, for a place like Argentina, it presents a possibility to have the time and the tools to create, and this is a radical change that promotes the growth of the artistic field, and increases the number of people who are working on art.

We think that the NFT and Cryptoart space is just beginning, and in five years several different kinds of art forms will take place, producing a lot of meaning and changing the way we think about the economy. NFTs and Cryptoart will lead to a shift in the way art is perceived. It will be perceived as a practical life path helping everyday people realize their true destiny as artists.

16. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

Mixed with steroids, national vegan and non vegan dish (grill / asado), paired with a king size bottle of Argentinian fine wine (Malbec). Because this amazing trans bucolic dinner is oddly possible. :wine_glass:

17. Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

We think CryptoArg will go down in history as one of the most significant cryptoart movements at large, empowering Southamerican and Argentinian creators in a way we haven’t seen before.

5. Short bio of you and/or your team:

I was born in USSR where the avant-garde was not recognised, it existed only at secret apartment exhibitions. My friends and I often dreamed of being able to exhibit it openly. We lived in hope for freedom and peaceful reunification of the world in the art space.

In the 1990s, my country, Georgia, found itself in the middle of the war. As a young artist who disclaimed weapons, I was forced to emigrate to Russia as a refugee.

Once in St. Petersburg, I sold my art on the streets of the city, because my works were not accepted at that time by the official Union of Artists. There was no gallery culture at that time either, so we soon began to organise exhibition spaces for ourselves by trial and error and build the future we have come to today. Becoming an art-dealer and gallery owner, I wanted to help non-systemic underground and non-institutional artists like me create an open space of acceptance.

At that time, only after the collapse of the USSR, Russian artists were popular and there was a kind of boom in the market for their work. Soon I began to sell and promote older artists - 60s and 70s, the second avant-garde. Many brilliant, but completely unknown Soviet artists began to be valued dearly – this is how we formed a market, reliable and stable, investments in which are still justified. At the same time, in 2000, I opened my own space where collectors could see art, and already in 2003 it became a full-fledged public space with frequent exhibitions and lectures. The team and I carefully and confidently raised our collectors, explained, taught them to collect, and at the same time strengthened the positions of Soviet non-conformist art. Now it is a brand and a serious investment opportunity.

Of course, I also have a serious collection of such art - I believe in it, love it and see the revolutionary and militant fervour that helped me, who has been a witness and participant in complex political processes, government decisions and their consequences too.

However, as a person, a collector and a gallery owner, I understand more and more clearly that the new time poses new problems and challenges: personal, political, social . And it is not always possible to answer them in the old ways, outdated visual language, so my team and I refocused on contemporary Russian art. Among only emerging artists, street artists and interdisciplinary figures, we have been opening those who are the most sensitive to modernity for more than five years. And we promote them on the art market not only because this is our business, but because we believe that sincerity and good taste are things that remain relevant for a long time.

Now our team actively curates in the city, cooperates with the largest museums and participates in fairs, continuing to form a community of people around us who find what they really care about here.

The world is changing and transforming into a digital one. We also do not want to stay in the same place. We want to go one step further, transform and enable artists to enter the global open space. Therefore, we are almost the first in the country to launch an NFT project for young Russian artists and collectors who are ready to enter into a dialogue with the world.

7. Summary/manifesto of your Space (~500 words). What is your unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

DiDi Gallery is an exhibition space that curates exhibitions, private collections and educational activities about underground Soviet art and contemporary Russian art. We wanted to make a step forward metaverse by preserving our expertise, taste and values which helped us to stay on the Russian art market for so long.

Our activities in the real world are evolving. Over the past 5 years, a community of young artists has formed around the gallery and we actively involve their works in group projects, auctions, and charity events. This is a new generation of artists who thinks not only about the possibilities of the material and opposes the strong academic tradition in Russia (like the old generation of artists), but this new generation of thinkers tries to speak about social and universal problems in a visual language. They shape the artistic environment in Russia participating in major museum exhibitions and local projects. We encourage them to transform and enter not only a new platform, but also start working in new techniques, use a new language.

Over our 20-year history, we have gone through a gradual transition from the popularity of painting by artists who fought in a formal and conceptual way against the Soviet official ideology to the new media. Previously, in the early 2000s, we were not only a part of a newly formed market, but we also influenced it, giving investment value to the whole new layer of art, which continues to grow in price in the local and foreign markets. Now we want to take a step into the future together with the artists. We want to represent a whole community in the metaverse. We would like to convey that art always has an intention to be global. And just as many artists of the 1990s, after the collapse of USSR, became a diplomatic bridge between Russia and the West, in the same way we would like to become part of the world community now, showing that those values and ideas, problems and feelings of this world are common and can unite more people than before. By expanding physical and political boundaries, with our meta-exhibitions we would like to resist internal politics and widespread censorship and restrictions, providing space for previously unthinkable freedom for both artists and ourselves!

As it was already mentioned (see above and below) we have extensive experience in the artistic environment.

Revaz Zhvania - founder and owner of the gallery, art dealer

Anzhelika Urusova — curator, art manager of the gallery, has extensive experience in curating exhibitions and collections in the museum environment

Zarina Akhmetzyanova — art manager, curator and expert in the field of contemporary art in St. Petersburg, collaboration manager

9. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

DiDi Gallery has been fully functioning since 2003. Every year it hosts from 10 exhibition projects, participates in the international fairs (COSMOSCOW, DaMoscow!). The gallery is engaged in the sale of Soviet unofficial art and contemporary Russian art, provides services for the examination and evaluation of private collections, as well as art-dealer services for high-level private collectors. Despite the fact that the gallery specialises in rare and collectible art of the 20th century, the gallery is active in the field of contemporary art as well, trying to work with authors at the very beginning of their career and bring them to a new level. For these purposes, the gallery has an online store where you can buy young Russian authors from large cities and remote regions with delivery anywhere in the world. https://store.didigallery.com

However, we are always open to the modern dynamic world, so among the gallery’s projects are participation in external exhibition projects of public and private museums, collaboration with medium and small local businesses, free educational activities with the involvement of university experts and mediators.

In our activities, we try to find a balance and attract figures with completely different backgrounds, showing that art and taste are an investment, first of all, in yourself, in the standard of living and self-education!

Also, 4 times a year, the gallery organises auctions, allowing not only to expand the pool of authors, but also to make art available.

One of the latest auctions was the “This and That” auction - a charity auction in favor of studios working with creative people with autism spectrum disorders. Three organisations provided the works of their wards!

More information about the activities of the gallery can be found in the English version of the site:

ArtFair Cosmoscow2020:

10. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

One of our conceptual goals is to enable artists, who are already defining the local art-environment around them, to smoothly transition into the metaverse. Therefore, most of our artists are “analogue” authors with whom we work within our physical space or through other forms of collaboration. We have a pool of artists who regularly represent us at art-fairs and exhibit in the gallery. With them, we plan to build an exhibition plan for Superrare, involving other digital-creators collaborating with them.

We are also interested in discovering local talents: motion designers and digital artists who have not yet had the financial or organizational opportunity to enter big NFT-marketplaces.

Among them:

Pavel Pletnev is a St. Petersburg based author from Omsk, a participant of the exhibition project in the State Russian Museum “Millennials in Contemporary Russian Art”, the international art-fair «COSMOSCOW» and many projects of the gallery. The author explores the problems of urbanization and the Soviet architectural heritage in Russia, reflects on the new Russian social and cultural memory, works in the genre of micro-installations.

Nika Qutelia is a Russian-Georgian digital artist, musician and creator of the first NFT-artworks for our gallery project ÂŤMIRACLESSÂť. Kutelia works with images of the sensuality in the context of corporality and New Sincerity. Presented at venues: Foundation https://foundation.app/@nikvsio
Login • Instagram

Katerina Alimova is an artist and ceramist, shoots videos, makes installations using different media, performer. Alimova works with the problems of national memory and the collective unconscious, revealing entire cultural layers in her surrealistic and eccentric manner. Old architecture, artifacts of time, personal and public history are captured by her in clay and video.
Her works are sharply political.

Vladislav Mukhanov is a young St. Petersburg artist who builds an image of an ecological utopian future. In his works, he combines the techniques of galvanoplastics and 3D printing, exploring possible ways out of the ecological disaster and reconciliation between man and nature. Presented at Opensea

We are at the stage of negotiations with the rest of the artists, however, if we are accepted to the site, we will be ready to launch three projects in a row within a few weeks.

We do have projects which are in the planning stage, however, we cannot disclose details in open sources by agreement with the authors

12. If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

If selected, our first exhibition can be launched within max. 20 days

13. Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

Since the gallery conducts regular exhibition activities, dozens of artists pass through us - about 14 projects a year, we are aimed at the same intensive work in SuperRare - to continue to engage in permanent involvement of artists from St. Petersburg, Moscow and remote regions of Russia to statements and self-expressions. We take this activity seriously and consider SupeRare as one of the most prospective platforms. We plan about 5-6 projects per year with a frequency of once every 3 months here.

Now we have ideas for 3 exhibition projects and one collaborative exhibition. One of them will be devoted to sensual and emotional memory, expressed in the ephemeral digital works of Nika Qutelia. Another exhibition is planned with a young St. Petersburg artist who reflects on the “monsters” of our time: toxicity, ugliness, discrimination, ignoring among people society in the city. The project is planned using AR technologies, which will be transferred to Instagram and become a promotional campaign for the project around the world.

Number of artworks will vary from 6 to 12 NFT-artworks for an exhibition in the Space.

14. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

Primary:

50 % (after gas and related fees) - to an artist(s)

50 % (after gas and related fees) - to the gallery, including marketing, promotion, advertizing, technical support, documentation

Secondary:

30% - to an artist (split if there are some authors)

70 % - to the gallery (25% to managers)

15. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

We see two important aspects of this issue.

Firstly, blockchain and NFT are technologies, behind which the future lies in almost all areas of the economic and business spheres. In the world of art, where the problem of authorship and copyright, provenance comes first - especially! Blockchain technologies will very soon allow a completely different look at the legal basis of many transactions and agreements between actors in the art world. Blockchain is a new opportunity for authors to assert and protect their copyrights, and, accordingly, for galleries - to make the process of buying and sells more transparent. For photography, video art, blockchain technology and NFT will become reliable tools that allow you to show and sell your works around the world on easy basis of a smart-contract.

CryptoArt - the heir of the already middle-aged digital art. It will become even more popular. It is unlikely that the laws of the art market will change much, because crypto art is the same art, namely the ability to express oneself and speak out either through its creation or through acquisition. However, a successful and reliable financial model, the possibility of reliable investments will attract serious and well-known in the physical world artists.

We would also like to add that the existence of such global platforms as SuperRare and other marketplaces is an absolute opportunity for freedom of speech and social criticism. It seems to us that in addition to visual experiments, there will be many social projects that, perhaps in the future, will be able to make a difference in promoting, discussing and solving global problems!

16. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

Ice cream with mango, because the combination of cold, sweet and juicy taste on a sunny day can take you to an unknown, controversial and unpredictable mood. Our Space will be the same — opened to discussion and different opinions, but also fun and peculiar. It will make you think you are in a better world than it really is just the way ice cream with mango does.

17. Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

Thank you for your attention to our application! We will be truly grateful for any feedback and suggestions from SuperRare experts and community members. We are just starting our journey in NFT, however, we are very open to new experience and opportunities. Our big dream and goal is to be in dialogue with people who share our aesthetic views and ideals. NFT-artworld is a place of equality and trust, we want to share our view of the world except of establishing its monopoly!

Summary/manifesto of your Space. What is the unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

Spectrum will help artists to reach a bigger audience and build a collector base. We will present a collection of high quality artworks from diverse artists and genres. We will take an advisory role for artists and collectors if needed and we will educate more people on art and encourage more artists and collectors to join the space.

Spectrum will bring to the forefront high quality art, using our teams high quality aesthetic and diverse taste and also experiences in the art industry from past 15 years to showcase incredible talent, undervalued artists and hidden gems from all across the globe.

Every piece sold in our space will also be displayed in galleries in the metavers.

We we will offset our created NFTs. It’s important to us that artists in our space feel comfortable about their work and their created NFTs. Artists should be proud of their work and the mediums they choose to sell their work without any fear of backlash from people outside of the NFTspace.
We have found this platform Aerial – Offset Your NFTs to do it, but are totally open for suggestions and will keep researching ourself.

Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc.

We curated two exhibitions in two galleries in the metavers one by invitation and one by application.

In both galleries it was our focus to just show works that were still available for purchase, we contacted and promoted on social media.

Are there new artists you’d like to bring into the Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

There are several. We all meet through art or through communication in the NFT space or Mari and Archan know them from their long work experience. We will bring artists in our space that bring the quality, the creativity and the determination that we want to see on Super Rare. We are collectors, supporters, but first and foremost fans of their work.

Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with for this Space? Have they committed to participating yet?

If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

We could launch our first exhibition mid of April.

Please provide any additional details you can about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of exhibitions, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

-We will promote our space through our social media channels and display the collection in galleries across the metavers.

-We will have twitter spaces for interviews with artists and collectors and promote upcoming drops as well as a newsletter to keep anyone that chooses to receive it to be updated on newest drops and onboarded artists.

-The cadence of exhibitions is firstly dependent on sales, we focus on giving a good service to onboarded artists first. Our approach is quality over quantity, but we will create a constant output. Auction strategies will be developed in collaboration with the artists, we will advise and review to get the best results.

How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

We will take a 10% commission for the provided services. The Super Rare treasury will receive 5% and the artist 85%.

The spectrum treasury funds will be solely used to reinvest and grow the spectrum space. The founders agreed not to take anything out for themself.

To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

NFTs will be basically everywhere. NFTs will be used as tickets, to reward customers in various ways, they will be used more and more for funding creative projects like films and books and will verify identities to access all kinds of services.

NFT sales will replace most of the art sales today. We will have a lot of custodians that will hold physical paintings, and ship out on demand by the NFT holder. When it comes to trading NFTs will be the number one solution.

Almost all value exchanges will be recorded on a blockchain in the future. The same goes for art. Also we will see the technological possibilities explored more. Data driven changing art and generative art are a great example, but only the beginning.

If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

It would be a fishtail, art is all about experimenting and exploring so why fit in one bracket… let’s have fun and broaden our horizons.

Anything else you’d like the community to consider?

Not really… lets create amazingness and elevate art and culture through blockchain.

Gabriel Santos

My business background has been in mobile technology and digital advertisement for over 17 years. All of my business ventures since day one have been within the digital space. I, alongside my business partner Mario Beltran, have led a small tight-knit team of senior developers, whose work is now centered largely around projects on the Ethereum blockchain. While I conduct the concept ideation and business development, my team supports me from a technical standpoint. My team consists of highly professional individuals and even better human beings who help bring my visions (that become our visions) to life. I currently operate as a collector, consultant and promoter within the NFT space. My current collection consists of over 400 works from a diverse array of multidisciplinary artists with a strong inclination for psychedelic art.

I’m proud to say that Mario has been my business partner and friend for more than 10 years. While I did not have much to offer by means of compensation at the time, Mario took a chance on me because he believed in my vision when it was very difficult to, and for that I am very grateful. He has helped me build and manage my ideas from the ground up and I am extremely lucky and privileged to share this journey with him. He leads and manages our long-standing team of rockstar full stack developers ensuring a secure and reliable technology environment for our operations. The team definitely looks up to him, something which is absolutely warranted and well deserved.

7. Summary/manifesto of your Space. What is the unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

This curated storefront will actively serve to showcase, promote and sell artworks selected by me personally as a continuation of my personal collection which again has a heavy inclination in psychedelic art. I will never promote anything I wouldn’t personally buy and this will be central to my Space. With no main theme in terms of media, the goal is to represent unique souls regardless of their background, technique, subject matter, or stylistic vision. It will serve as the gallery for artists of all shapes and sizes whom I deeply believe in and can truly align with. The uniqueness lies within the artist themselves, each exhibition differing from one another based on the artist featured at any given time. I’m know in it for the right reasons, the goal and driving force behind this Space is to help artists be discovered but also to become better versions of themselves, both personally and professionally. Also, I want to see my artists have fun with the process, art should be a fun journey and that’s what makes it all worthwhile. This is definitely something I value dearly, and I intend to promote it within my Space.

Finally, I want a chance to work professionally with some of the most amazing artists out there. I had actually been searching for something like this for quite some time, yet it wasn’t until SuperRare Spaces came around that I felt I had found the best and most appropriate medium for me. My objective in life is to offer more of myself and the lessons and hardships that I have been lucky enough to learn from with those who are willing and ready to listen. I want an opportunity to share my life’s experiences that have made me the person that I am today.

8. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:

I will be leading the Space as Head Curator, however I will work with friends and colleagues in the industry for input and feedback in order to keep things fresh and innovative at all times. Also I would like to have an internship or protege program to help develop the young up and coming curators of the future. In my youth, my mother was a prominent art collector in Mexico throughout the 80’s and 90’s. I think that I’ve been very fortunate to have developed a keen eye for meaningful art from a young age. I know I will always be a work in progress and must keep pushing myself to continue developing my eye for different art forms as best I can in order to keep growing within the art world and beyond. I fully expect to get better with time. My mothers collection consisted of many great artists such as Frida Kahlo, Rufino Tamayo, Maria Izquierdo, Francisco Toledo, and even Jean-Michel Basquiat to name a few greats. It is from this upbringing and background, that my appreciation for the arts is rooted on and has since only grown stronger. It is the energy, message being conveyed and of course aesthetics of any given artwork that peak my initial interest in any one piece.

Moving into the current day, my tangible or IRL collection of works has mostly stalled since the beginning of this year 2021 and my spending has since shifted heavily into CryptoArt. To date, I have invested roughly $3,000,000 USD on my collection of digital works, most of which are worth well over their initial investment. Among my current collection I have collected 55 SuperRare artists including Mr. Misang, Jake Fried and Fauves. As an avid collector and lover of the arts, I believe not only in my collection representing a great investment, but also a testament for all these incredible artists that this new medium has uncovered to the world. Additionally, I will develop my strategically located Decentraland lot (3x2) into my Gallery with the entire first level floor being solely dedicated to our gblsts marketplace and the promotion of its artist. The remaining floors will hold my main collection and different meeting and social spaces.
We are witnessing an art revolution and i feel very fortunate for it. I truly believe art makes the world a better place so I couldn’t be more excited to be an active part of it and its future.

9. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc.

I currently promote and showcase my NFT collection on both Twitter and Instagram as well as our Website Gallery (www.gblsts.com/collection). I have experience in promoting and consulting with many top name crypto artists on general strategies like pricing, business development and marketing as well as mindset and other issues on a more personal level.

It is my genuine passion and interest to work directly with artists and wanting them to succeed both personally and professionally, that makes me a great candidate for a Space. My personal and holistic approach gives me a way to connect with artists in sometimes more meaningful and impactful ways. Some examples of artists I have personally worked with include Fauves, MayaGuy, Caramuru and Andres Zighelboim which are all SuperRare artists.

10. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into the Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

I have many artists in mind all to which i am a friend as well as private council to. I plan to continue working with all of the artists i have collected before and which whom i continue to have a good standing relationship with. Also, with the help of the talented Alessio De Vecchi i have been able to onboard artists that have already been doing great on the platform. Some of these amazing artists including Jake Fried, Line Censor and Niro Perrone have all at least 5x their sell price with my guidance and support. I am not and will not be alone on these efforts as i always try to surround myself and the artists with the most greatest minds within the industry that can definitely help propel them even farther. Ultimately it will always be about the artist; first and foremost.

Additionally, i plan on introducing a number of new artists to my Space such as:

Camilo Restrepo
Website | Twitter | instagram

Medellín-based artist. His work reflects on internal violence —the fights we play inside our heads, and the failure of the War on Drugs and the disastrous consequences it has caused in Colombia. Creator of “a ToN oF coke” —the first 1.000 one-kilo crypto cocaine packages available for sale on the Ethereum blockchain.

Damian Siqueiros

Hey! I’m Damián, and I’m a Creator for impact.

I use art to create positive narratives that heal social and ecological environments through empathic visual storytelling. To achieve this, I use a wide range of media that include fine art and advertisement photography, installation, video art, art direction, and education.

My current project, Terra Sapiens, focuses on representing viable positive futures that stem from the convergence of science, traditional indigenous knowledge, philosophy, art and design. We approach social and ecological challenges looking for solutions through a synergetic approach.

Performing arts has been a core element of his work almost since the beginning of my career. Performance has become a language expressed through photography to address complex issues through emotional movement.

Throughout my career, I’ve created more than 60 exhibitions in Canada and internationally, notably in Washington D.C., at the Art Museum of the Americas, Miami at the Frost Museum, Mexico, South Korea at the MMCA Goyang Residency, Toronto, Montreal and New York at the prestigious Tambaran gallery.

Also, as something extremely personal to me and also never done before on SuperRare; i will try to inmortalize through his estate one of Mexico’s best contemporary artist of my time, the great Julio Galan. He was first brought to attention by Andy Warhol who printed several of Galán’s works in his Interview magazine. Julio Galán started his career as a painter in my hometown of Monterrey, Mexico, so again, this project is very personal and dear to me. Also, i think it should be a highly marketable business model and project and i if this works i would actually love to keep honoring through this model many deceased artists and their families.

I plan to charge a fee to every Galan IRL collector to digitalize, secure and of course validate their artworks on the blockchain and hopefully create a rejuvenated secondary market for Julio as a result. I think this model could be of great impact for the SuperRare platform as validators moving forward. I most certainly plan to share these fees with the SuperRare DAO. For now i’m calling this project "Julio Galan Meets the Blockchain" and would love for this model to be a mainstay as the "Meets the Blockchain" series in the future.

It is with great motivation that i strive to continue helping the artists i work with to get what they truly deserve for their work. This in turn grants the artist more time and liberty to work on what is most important to them - which is of course their craft. My drive also comes from the genuine desire to even out the playing field a bit more for many of these artists by having a collector, businessman, and mentor on their side to help them make these sometimes critical decisions throughout their careers. I believe that the emotional and mental aspect of an artist almost always goes unexplored and it can have everything to do with the quality of the work they put out. In me, artists will find this sort of comprehensive support that helps both mentally and emotionally, hopefully resulting in better and more profound work. Finally, from a business strategy standpoint, it is this that truly sets me aside from most gallery curator/directors today.

11. Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with for this Space? Have they committed to participating yet?

Many artists have and continue to make great efforts to be considered for my collection. So, as a continuation of that trend I believe the demand to be a part of my SuperRare Spaces storefront will be even higher. Again, having an extra set of eyes on their work and being supported by a collector with business experience as well as an art background offers a unique opportunity. More and more artists are beginning to see our value in this regard.

13. Please provide any additional details you can about how you plan to operate this Space, e.g., cadence of exhibitions, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

My team and i have a limited exhibition background, but we have been in the digital advertising sector for over 17 years, which will definitely help for this very important and personal project. My team and i will continue to work tirelessly to better understand the main differences and key steps for us to take within the promotional process within the digital art industry. I really do want to see my artists succeed both personally and professionally so i will be constantly looking for innovative and fun ways to promote them in the right lighting. I envision that my Decentraland Storefront Gallery will be central to these efforts as i plan for this Space to occupy the complete floor level installations.

“I will handle my exhibition’s similar to how I handle most of the things in life, with great energy, genuine intentions and an open heart.” – @ gblsts

How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

14.Commission rates will be structured as followed:

Primary sales:

  • 5% SuperRare DAO
  • 64% Artist Royalty
  • 31% gblst Gallery

Secondary Sales:

  • 6.7% Artist
  • 3.3% gblsts Gallery

15. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

I see CryptoArt as better suited for commercial spaces to be honest. I have a hard time imagining changing the physical paintings in my home for any type of digital panel. The presentation and displays as they exist at present, just do not feel the same for me at this point. However, for commercial spaces the possibilities are endless really, I’m super excited to see where we are at in just a couple of years in that regard. I think that at that point is when CryptoArt could really start to become much more mainstream with the IRL art whale collectors as they continue to start to engage and enter the space.

Additionally, as I have come from a more traditional art space, I am well aware of the challenges faced when handling the imports and exports of art. For that reason and for the ability of automatically establishing provenance through the blockchain is why I think CryptoArt is such a game changer. Furthermore, I have long thought about the unfair nature of artist royalties/ commissions associated with most tangible art market sales. I believe full-heartedly in this life-time revenue stream for artists and their families as established through the current structure of the secondary market artist royalties. Most artists have historically seen little to no return for their work and it is tragic that this has persisted for this long throughout history without much change. So, I am honored and proud to help artists get and continue to get the very well-deserved value of their work. Safekeeping physical artworks is another obstacle and headache needed to be faced by IRL collectors, and while safekeeping digital artworks has its own set of challenges, having enough space is not one of them.

16. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

“I’m not a drinker anymore but if I have to choose, I’d probably say a Cosmopolitan. A good cocktail stands the test of time and I think it should be the same with art.”

“I’d like my Space to be much closer to mushrooms than a cocktail if im being honest“– Gabriel

17. Anything else you’d like the community to consider?

The mission behind the Space:

This is a chance for me to continue working with my artists with even more freedom and flexibility. I believe we all want to be discovered in a way, which is why I’m absolutely committed to help shine the sometimes much needed light on many of these hidden gems that are still out there. Many great artists have and will probably continue to go undiscovered, throughout history. It is for this reason that I believe the digital art space still offers and awaits many great discoveries. My Space will be the perfect opportunity and setting for artists to connect and align with my vision as a curator, collector, businessman and mentor. Even some of the best artists needed help promoting their work. It will be a space created with my fullest and most genuine intentions of supporting the lives of artists I believe in and deeply align with. I can’t think of a better brand to make my best curating and consulting efforts under. I am completely committed to give my absolute all in order to continue propelling SuperRare forward as the OG CryotoArt platform that it is. More importantly, I recognize SuperRare as the incredibly beautiful and powerful movement that it has come to be at the hands and foresight of the visionary group of people that make up the founding team.

Inner Workings of Art

I believe art comes from the soul and the constant exploration of it. Because of this it’s very common for my consultations to start off by having these deeper conversation sessions with the artist geared towards helping me get a clearer view of the source of where their very personal artistic expression is emanating from. My own life experiences which I usually share with them help guide me through these meaningful and usually very revealing conversations.

Helping artists further discover and develop their unique language of creation is something I’m very passionate about. Once we start to truly locate the “valve” of their artistic expression we can work on further opening and refining it, but of course this takes time, and it’s more of a process than it is a mission.

This first section of my consultation I’m most passionate about as I know these very personal explorations sometimes take a lot of courage, but I truly believe that’s what art is all about.

Aesthetics & Curation

Since quite a young age I’ve had a very defined sense of aesthetics. Knowing what I liked and what I didn’t graphically came pretty naturally to me for some reason. Over the years this definition has only evolved and even expanded but with the same conviction or maybe even more. My art collection speaks loudly for me in this regard although with some limitations we collectors must always face like budget and pricing. I am not a ROI collector but

I believe that as a collector I will ultimately be judged by the performance behind my collection and although it could be argued that aesthetics are very personal to ones taste asset appreciation and return on investment is a very real and measurable concept.

Business Strategy

Having been fortunate enough to operate successful mobile technology businesses over the course of almost two decades is where I’ve gained most of my business experience. Through both successes and failures I’ve learned many valuable lessons on profitability which ultimately afforded me the opportunity to become an art collector. Upon discovering the blockchain and NFTs, they immediately appeared to be natural continuation of that same dynamic.

Becoming a cryptoart collector has gained me valuable market insight and a general feel for it. We’ve now learned how smart contracts are built, what types of work are better suited for the different marketplaces and how to implement an adequate pricing structure for artists. By assessing complete bodies of work and evaluating and adjusting to the ever-changing market conditions I seek to help artists find the maximum value for their work and help them build and manage strong communities behind them and not only a traditionally inactive collector base. That’s the goal, that’s my commitment—and if at some point I’m unable to do so myself, I’m always motivated to help connect artists to the people who can.

Data & Technology

I’m a firm believer of making informed business decisions and for that we must use all tools at our disposal; one of these more powerful tools being data of course. As a team we’ve been able to be successful because of it. Through the blockchain we are able to drill for data like never before and it’s openly available for everybody to access which is not the case in most internet based ventures. Knowing what data to drill for is a very different preposition.

As a team we’ve had many years of experience in digital advertising and feel very confident in what we’re able to do in this regard. We’re committed to continue our efforts to innovate for our clients and our own projects moving forward

Who I’m becoming: My name is Alyssa Gill, and I am an emerging, independent curator of NFTs that center architecture, interior design, and/or landscapes as art. I’m working to build and foster community between artists and collectors of these types of NFTs and add value to both stakeholder groups.

Who I’ve been: I’ve spent my entire career/adult life in the startup space, most recently holding investor community lead roles in venture capital.

Summary/manifesto of your Space (~500 words). What is your unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

-The Decentralyss Space will be the premier destination to discover, buy, and sell NFTs that center architecture, interior design, and/or landscapes as art.

-I’m excited about this focus area as a manifestation of my lifelong appreciation of place, space, and design. I’m also confident that this niche subject matter angle is highly differentiated from other potential Spaces.

-Decentralyss will be medium agnostic, featuring 2D illustrations, 3D animations, photography, and so on. The Space will be style agnostic as well, inclusive of surrealist, photorealistic, and other types of pieces.

-I’ll carefully hand-select each work of art as a reflection of my personal taste, backed by my investment in a 1:1 relationship with, and the success of, every single artist. Each curated exhibit will feature works that relate to each other in aesthetically pleasing yet often unexpected ways (example below):

Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:

-I have tweeted eight curations from Jan 31, 2022 - Feb 19, 2022. They have earned a combined 4,573 impressions with an average 13% engagement rate. 1% is widely considered to be a great engagement rate on Twitter.

-I’m grateful for the SuperRare Space Race proposal process, as it’s been such a helpful introspective exercise for me as a new curator. Thus far, my curations have featured pieces I’ve liked and that, to me, speak to each other. Now I understand that the ultimate power of curation is to help artists sell their works. Going forward, I’m excited to use additional methods (such as those listed below) to make my curations more productive in this way:

1. Sharing my curations on Instagram alongside Twitter
2. Twitter threads highlighting one piece, collection, or artist at a time
3. Twitter Spaces show concept: Architecture as Art - artist interview + auction kickoff

-I’ve included my curatorial portfolio below for your review. I acknowledge that the majority of my curations feature pieces on another marketplace, but I look forward to focusing on pieces available on SuperRare going forward.

Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

-Since launching my NFT art curation career on Jan 31, 2022, I have initiated the art curation process with one NFT project, and will likely be leading artist relationship management for said project. I am also in serious conversations with a DAO regarding leading art curation for its upcoming art show. Lastly, I was approached by KurateDAO to beta test its crypto curation protocol and how it may be applied to the NFT art curation use case. All of these opportunities have come from relationships in my existing network + building in public on Twitter, all within a matter of weeks. I’m just getting started.

-I feel strongly that the above indicates a promising NFT art curation career ahead. And I know that I’ll rise to the occasion of being granted a SuperRare Space and sharpen my skills in art sales, auctioneering, and collector base building in real-time by leveraging what I’m already great at - nurturing relationships.

Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

There are, and I would. These are new friends I’ve made via Twitter Spaces, artists I’ve included in my curations and subsequently engaged with on Twitter, and artists whose burgeoning careers I’ve been following on Twitter, Instagram, and SuperRare.

Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with? Have they committed to participating yet?

Yes, all of my artist relationships are with those actively selling their art as NFTs, some on SuperRare! And while I haven’t sought out any commitments yet, I’m very confident that artists I’m building relationships with will be interested in being featured in a Decentralyss exhibition.

If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

Realistically, I think I’d need 7 weeks to curate an inaugural exhibition on par with SuperRare. I’d also want to make sure I got my bearings operating the Space itself and had a robust infrastructure in place to generate sales for artists.

Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

-Cadence of Releases: I’d love for one of the Decentralyss value propositions to be helping artists sell their works in a month, max + helping collectors discover and buy new works monthly. This would allow for 12 total exhibitions per year.

-Auction Strategy: I’d like to host a short Twitter Spaces event to reveal each piece in the exhibition, co-hosted with the artist sharing more about their journey, the meaning behind the piece, etc. At the conclusion of the Twitter Space, I would open the bidding. I expect that this would generate immediate demand.

-Number of Artworks: I’d like to feature 7 pieces by 7 individual artists per exhibit. This is a large enough number to foster cross-pollination of artists’ followers/fans/collectors but a small enough number for me to dedicate time generating targeted buzz and sales for each artist.

-Promoting Art and Artists:

Work collaboratively with each artist to leverage their promotional channels in concert with Decentralyss’ as to work together and not cannibalize either effort.

Launch the @decentralyss instagram account to share my curations on Instagram alongside Twitter

Launch the Decentralyss newsletter as an extension of @decentralyss on Twitter and Instagram

Share Twitter threads highlighting one piece, collection, or artist at a time

Execute my Twitter Spaces show concept: Architecture as Art - artist interview and auction kickoff

How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

I imagine that the SuperRare team and community thought through the default commission structure proposed here at length, so I’m inclined to maintain it:

Artists: 85%

Curator: 10%

SuperRare DAO: 5%

To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

My honest answer to the latter is that I don’t think we can predict where the space will be in five years. However, I do think that today, NFTs represent a new era of the creator economy that will revolutionize our relationship with work, income generation, and generational wealth creation.

If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

As a dish, the Decentralyss Space would be a midcentury modern gingerbread house as a nod to my personal design style and architecture generally. Its removable roof would reveal a fully furnished interior, and festive, edible landscaping would surround it on all sides. This would cover my three pillars of architecture, interior design, and landscape art.

Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

-I sincerely believe that this is a unique opportunity to demonstrate how an independent can launch their curator career with SuperRare. I can definitely appreciate that I’m early in my journey, but think that’s actually my value prop to the SuperRare platform. One way to think about me is as an ‘emerging’ or even ‘apprentice’ curator building from the ground up. If SuperRare could help mold a top-tier curator from day one, what would that look like?

-I’ve loved participating in the NFT community, but thought I would need to become an artist myself in order to make a living in the space full-time and self-employed. I’ve found that building relationships + discovering and sharing works is what I’ve been drawn to spending my time on, and what I’m great at. Coming across SuperRare Spaces was pretty mind-blowing because it recognizes these as value-add activities worth earning compensation for. I can’t yet afford to collect all of the NFTs I love, but want to appreciate them, demonstrate support for the artists, and create and capture value for my work (that doesn’t feel like work at all).

-I also want to mention that I’ve been so inspired by BLACK*RARE and have really enjoyed attending the related Twitter Spaces thus far. Regardless of whether I am selected to operate a SuperRare Space, I intend to amplify and support these efforts however I can.

-Thank you so much to the community for your time and consideration of the Decentralyss SuperRare Space.

I FOCUS ON PENCIL DRAWING AND PHOTOSHOPED ANIMATED WORKS

8. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:

Usually, it is fun drawing our art work thou tiring and challenging to get the conclusions right.

9. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

It usually amazing me, people tend to buy art that we actually thought they would not even look at! Funny, right!

10. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

I actually have friends who are artists. Hopefully when I am successful here, they will pick a leaf and probably chose to show case their works on this space. Fingers crossed. Hoping for the best.

11. Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with? Have they committed to participating yet?

I plan to work with @lanadenina

12. If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

As soon a now ………

13. Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

I plan to upload all my art work. Some of my art work will be staged for auction while other works may have a fixed price tag.

14. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

10% is my best offer for commissions. I hope that will do for any artists that broker my work on the space.

15. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

NFTs to me have brought originality to the internet space and that for me is ultimate trust in people’s work on the internet. Cheers. NFT is five years from now have drawn a clear line between people (those that create the works and those that simply use other people’s works)

16. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

In Africa, we have a certain tea we call “DAWA TEA” (a mixture of honey, ginger, hot water, and lemon) and during these trying times of COVID, this particular tea was the run to everyone as a treat for COVID.
My space will be the “DAWA TEA” for you all. Hahahaha……

17. Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

I am here to have fun and also make you have fun with my art. Fingers crossed. cheers.

This will be great :slightly_smiling_face:

We are a group of artists who have come together on the Super Rare Discord feed. We are all outstanding in relation to art and design. We all carry different attributes working in different mediums and processes. Some Still, Some Abstract, Some 3-dimensional in form. Either way, all fulfil great characteristics within the outcome. Whether it is moving animation or a piece with paint on canvas digitally, we will do our utmost to make this race in the first place.

We have never worked together as part of a team but will look forward to sharing success and passion through the discipline bringing something special to the end-user, who chooses to purchase and enjoy.

We have so many pieces and are looking forward to exhibiting these within the platform.

  1. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:

We all try to promote our own work, working critically and incredibly hard with our own portfolios, websites, and social media handles.

  1. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

We all come from the good stator, many of us been through academia, architects, designers, and artists in our own right, so critique is of the utmost importance, and exhibiting is our main way of launch. we can handle anything somebody may wish to endeavour in relation to communication and getting the end-user truly satisfied with their purchase.

The members are already savvy with launching works on other platforms, composing galleries, and making sales. Networking is of no problem, we are all courteous and well mannered, presentable through technical communication.

10. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship with them?

Many of the artists are from the discord feed, who would like to be involved, there will be new artists when the ball starts to roll, as time goes on. Again, will be vetted by the team, we need to keep the bar high so no bad pieces are released in our race. we can see the style and standard through the discord feed of the artists, so we know what we are dealing with and can dive deeper with one another over time.

  1. Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

We plan to launch in collections, have each member be able to launch 3-5 collections, or more if they have and is of satisfaction with the members of the team. We can launch 25 -100 pieces in each collection if necessary.

We will continue to promote individual artists’ handles by ourselves and also get a space race to handle together through Instagram and Twitter. Links to this can also be published through individual feeds to promote… (these handles, we can all have the admin rights to and make things move forward as a team and operation).

  1. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

We can split if everyone is game. We need to discuss this…maybe we take the individual price if the work is sold and then any royalties get split. Between the group after super rare has taken their required fee for transaction and gas etc.

  1. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and Crypto Artspace in five years?

The market cap for NFT’s will continue to go up, it will not slow down by the looks of things (I have been researching into graphs and outcomes in all fields), digital copyright for artists is what we have been waiting for many years as the piece can then be truly authentic. (Other platforms people can pull the NFT off and in effect sell as their own., this is why Super Rare is brilliant, Open Sea you can just pull the work off). Alike to the discord feed as well. it’s a brilliant space for us to be in and also digital copyright is of the essence when creating the work. I think the crypto art space will continue to be pinnacle when launching, art, music, design anything within the digital environment.

  1. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

Matt’s answer- Mine would be Caviar and Raspberry Ripple Ice cream.

You get something truly individual, distinctive, easy on the palette, and damn right creamy.

  1. Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

Look out for us because we are truly talented, gifted individuals with a force to be reckoned with.

Alas its your votes that count, so see in your kind hearts to get us into orbit.
