Short bio of you and/or your team:

  1. I’m infinitely curious about the world around me and the everything. My mantra and life purpose is to “make light.” I never want to stop loving and laughing. My art ranges from photography, to digital drawings, to pen and ink, to watercolors, to pastels, to animation, and film. I love all mediums and I don’t consider my art to fit in any small boxes. My art is ever-changing, transformative, and original.

Summary/manifesto of your Space (~500 words). What is your unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

  1. My art is inspired by a dream, a delirium, a different dimension. From pen to paper to scanner to screen. My art is a result of my personal perceptions, my subconscious and my conscious understanding of life itself. I hope my art inspires in this community.

Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:

  1. I’m an artist who generally makes art to gift to loved ones. Selling art is new to me. I lack a large following or a platform to successfully do so, but I am business-minded and the thought of curating and promoting my artwork sparks excitement, passion, and hope for my own trajectory.

Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

  1. My art has been shown in a few college art shows. I haven’t had any exhibitions yet, but am working hard to do so. I love to network with collectors and creators.

Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

  1. Potentially.

Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with? Have they committed to participating yet?

  1. No, not yet.

If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

  1. ASAP.

Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

  1. I plan to have an unlimited number of artworks on a regular basis as I am constantly creating. My promotion tactic will rely heavily on word of mouth, Twitter, Reddit, Discord, and Instagram.

How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

  1. Commission rates will heavily benefit the artist in my space. Profit is nice, but I’m here to be a part of the space, the collaboration, and the everything.

To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

  1. In a technological world, NFTs as a medium are brilliant. I imagine the CryptoArt space will be flourishing, advancing, and consuming the art market in the next 5 years. I think of it as the “New Wave,” and already feel like I’m late to the party.

If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

  1. A cocktail named “Cosmic Jungle” — My artwork is inspired by the cosmos, by Earth and all its green, plant morphology…by bugs and dirt and clouds. Physics, philosophy, psychology make me want to create. My art will focus on themes relating to ever changing metaphysical landscapes. One sip of my cocktail would feel like a psychedelic experience, or a dream you vaguely remember.

Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

I’m not anyone. I am a small spec amongst a sea of “influencers” with a much greater gravitational pull than I have. Joining SuperRare would allow me to be a part of something I believe in. It’s important to me to contribute to a better world, and I believe my artwork can do that. Thank you!

Hello SuperRare Community!
I’m circling back here because we haven’t received any feedback, good, bad or indifferent for Plywood Protest. We would love any positive criticism or guidance you can give us because the message and meaning of this project is so much bigger than what lies on the surface. This project needs to be seen, the message needs to be heard and we believe in our hearts that SuperRare Spaces would help us achieve that better than anywhere. Our question to you is, what do we need to do to prove that these artists deserve it?

Please feel free to reach out direct on Twitter DM @DubGNFT, where I’d be happy to share my personal cell.
We appreciate your time and consideration.
Thank You
DubG and the Plywood Protest Artist Community

I create reviews on NFTs artists! My idea is in the artworks of artists! I create my reviews on NFTs to support unknown and small artists!

I want to show the whole world what the artist was trying to convey to his viewer, what thought, emotion and feeling he put into NFT, what he wanted to talk about, what he wanted to make you think, because a good description is accurate, concise and tells what you you can learn from NFT. Such NFTs with an idea, perhaps they will forever remain in your memory. These are pearls in a sea of nonsense.

8. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:
here are some of my reviews

9. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc: -

10. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

Unknown and small artists, in the works of which there are ideas and emotions!

11. Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with? Have they committed to participating yet? -

12. If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

Depending on the amount of NFTs

13. Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

Communication and organization!

14. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

The money raised from my review:

10% - сharity
40% - to the artist of my review
50% - creating other reviews NFTs

15. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

The true art of NFT is the expression of the deep feelings of the body, the manifestation of its soul.

After 5 years: NFT – «Cinderella becomes a real princess, but deep down she can’t forget the smoke and hard work in the kitchen».

16 If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

A multi-layer cake, in different layers of which there are different presences. One of them is overcoming. The other is emotion. In the third - just beauty.

17.Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

Thank NFT for an interesting and caring life.

5. Short bio of you and/or your team:

Paulius Uza is a Lithuanian software engineer, entrepreneur, investor and artist residing in Greece.

For the past few years he has consulted a number of leading companies in the crypto space, including SuperRare, helping them improve on their product offering and technology aspects.

His first NFT (SuperRare #48) was minted back in early 2018 on SuperRare private beta and his works are featured in permanent crypto art collections (see: SuperRare’s first 100 tokens: How the era of multiple editions became a source of scarcity today – SuperRare Editorial).

In 2021, with a team of friends and art lovers, he launched ForeverLands - a unique crypto art collection experience, which invests the proceeds into crypto art to be given away to the participants of the project in a fractionalized form.

Project sold $1.5M worth of tokens - majority of this amount is allocated towards buying art and supporting artists!

ForeverLands has since partnered with SuperRare, Kolectiv, Sloika and Rarible to bring enhanced visibility to the artists in their collection and to introduce new artists into the NFT space via ForeverLands NFT Residency program which offers additional financial and technical support.

7. Summary/manifesto of your Space (~500 words). What is your unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

We represent a community of thousands of collectors who are part of ForeverLands, and this Space will be a continuation of the already fruitful partnership between ForeverLands and SuperRare which resulted in two new artists being onboarded to SuperRare via NFT Residency program over the past month:

NFT Residency offers the artists additional perks such as financial support to mint their tokens, initial minimum bid commitment and additional support provided by our partners.

The goal of our space is to seek out true talent in underrepresented categories and communities and introduce them to the NFT space, providing them with support to make their first sales and establish a community around their work.

We aim to find the next big NFT artist wherever and whoever they are. Even after the end of ForeverLands project the Space will live on and continue its mission to promote and support artists.

8. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:

The team has been curating and buying art for the ForeverLands collection since 2021 -

We are systematically tracking the work and career progress of over 100 artists in the space.

Our official collection contains over 50 works of art, with hundreds more still to be added:

https://opensea.io/foreverlands

9. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

Project’s founder, Upheaver, has significant experience in the NFT space, working behind the scenes on smart contract technology and as a successful artist - his works have been trending on Kolectiv, Rarible and widely known on SuperRare.

We are proud to have a vibrant and loyal community of thousands of art collectors passionate about what we do at ForeverLands. Just a few ways we will extend the posibilities of our Space:

  • Metaverse exhibitions in partnership with PangeaDAO and others

  • Physical exhibitions (within EU) of print versions of some of the artworks featured in our collection

  • Providing artists with opportunities via partnerships with auction houses and brands

We have also launched an editorial publication on Medium which features exclusive interviews with artists from our collection: https://editorial.foreverlands.xyz

10. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

Yes! We are actively seeking out and talking with widely known and lesser known artists outside the NFT space, introducing them to concepts and helping them formulate their collections to match the audience of the platforms they would like to be featured on.

11. Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with? Have they committed to participating yet?

We have many artists in our vault (https://opensea.io/foreverlands) which would be happy to join SuperRare family via our Space.

12. If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

Within a few weeks.

13. Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

We are looking to onboard a new artist every 1-2 weeks.

We offer our artists a unique multi platform promotion capability, a sizeable community of active art collectors who are closely following our primary investments, as well as constant support in terms of social media visibility. Auction strategy will be individually tailored to each artist’s needs and the type of work they produce. Our artist collections will have emphasis on quality, attention to detail and scarcity.

14. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

Primary: 15%

  • 85% Artist(s)

  • 10% ForeverLands Space

  • 5% SR DAO

Secondary: 15%

  • 10% Artist(s)

  • 2.5% ForeverLands Space

  • 2.5% SR DAO

15. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

NFTs are for the first time in history allowing millions of digital-native creators to store and sell their works of art in a way that makes sense to both the artist and the collector. It’s a revolutionary technology that is here to stay and give birth to the new digital renaissance.

16. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

A passion fruit Mojito with Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva. It’s a blend of sophistication, freshness and passion!

17. Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

Very shortly we will be launching additional fund-raising for ForeverLands focusing on several vertical communities:

  • $RARE, with all proceeds being used to buy art on SuperRare’s new marketplace using $RARE token

  • $ASH, with all proceeds being used to buy from #weacceptash collectors

  • A special vertical fundraise to support female artists

  • A 100% benefit charity auction to raise money for charity:water

Sasha Stiles is a first-generation Kalmyk-American poet and artist working at the intersection of text and technology. Her hybrid writings – which have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net – seek to decipher the hidden language of the dawning Novacene, using experiments with generative text, nonhuman intelligence and machine code to probe what it means to be human in a nearly post-human era. Sashastiles.com

Kalen Iwamoto is a conceptual crypto writer and artist based in France. Her work takes blockchain technology and crypto culture as its point of departure, and focuses on play and exploration to push the boundaries of the NFT medium. In March 2021, Kalen created the Crypto Writer discord, now a thriving community with 200+ members and counting. Working with a team of some of the most innovative crypto writers in the NFT space, she continues to promote NFT poetry and prose through workshops, writing sessions, weekly readings, interviews and panel talks on a variety of topics of interest to the community. Ana Maria Caballero is a first-generation Colombian-American poet and writer. Her work seeks to rip the veil off of romanticized motherhood and question notions that present female sacrifice as a virtue. She’s received the Beverly International Prize for Literature, Colombia’s José Manuel Arango National Poetry Prize, been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and been a runner up for the Academy of American Poets Prize. Her poems as digital art have been exhibited at Dreamverse and won a Playboy x Sevens Foundation Grant. anamariacaballero.com

  1. Summary/manifesto of your Space. What is the unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

poem = work of art.

Founded by three women poets, theVERSEverse is a literary gallery where text is art, poetry is technology, and language has no limits. We are a curated platform where collectors discover poets, and poets discover the infinite potential of the Metaverse.

Our mission is threefold:

  1. We onboard acclaimed poets and pair their works with crypto native artists to create media-rich, immersive 1/1 works of art.
  2. We elevate the work of text-based artists already active in the NFT space.
  3. We explore the craft and creativity of generative text via our GenText series, collections that pair an artist, a poet and Sudowrite, an AI-powered writing tool, to create limited edition generative text blocks set against striking visuals. The first series was a collaboration between Gisel Florez and Sasha Stiles. Our current series is a collaboration between Ivona Tau and Ana Maria Caballero.

There is NO current dedicated poetry platform within the world of NFTs. We aim to lead the way forward by bringing together the most exciting crypto authors and text-based artists with widely-read, critically acclaimed traditional poets who will bring enthusiastic new audiences and collectors into the space.

We believe the poetic encounter is one of the most profound forms of communion between two minds — author and reader. We also believe new technologies such as blockchain, generative text and artificial imaginations can unlock unprecedented experiences in knowledge-sharing and linguistic experimentation, and deepen our human understanding.

theVERSEverse is where it comes together–

  • We represent the world’s leading crypto poets, and seek out emerging talent.
  • We connect writers, artists and creative technologists.
  • We amplify existing work by visionary writers.
  • We translate the printed page into cryptopoetry.
  • We commission new projects and collaborations.
  • We partner with leading curators and institutions to elevate blockchain poetry
  • We encourage conversations around the evolution of traditional publishing models.
  • We challenge pervasive stereotypes about the financial value of poetry and help poets sell their best work.
  1. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:

In the months since our launch at NFT.NYC in November of 2021, we have been blown away by the support of the crypto community – due in large part to the reputations and friendships that our three co-founders have joyfully built in this space.

The members of our core team are the women behind some of crypto literature’s most exciting works to date, from Kalen’s conceptual hit “12” to Ana’s sold-out genesis series of media-rich spoken word poems to Sasha’s groundbreaking binary code translations and AI generative text experiments. Individually, we are passionate community-builders, artful curators, and literary thought-leaders, frequently invited to exhibit work as well as participate in conversations about the future of poetry and the role of women on the blockchain.

Collectively, we bring together our respective communities, networks and audiences in a diverse readership that is so much more than the sum of its parts. We humbly suggest there is no better team to build poetry’s home in the metaverse – and we are grateful that so many in this space agree, having already become contributors to, collectors of, or ambassadors for theVERSEverse.

  1. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc.

Since launching less than three months ago, we have sold over 30 1/1 pieces. Our first GenText series is close to selling out and our second series has done well in sales.

During the month of April 2022, theVERSEverse will curate an exhibition at the Digital Francisco Carolinum, the metaverse home of the museum that hosted the historic Proof of Art exhibition in 2021.

We are also organizing a dedicated VERSEverse exhibition in Avant Galerie in Paris for Fall of 2022. This gallery represents such groundbreaking artists as Robbie Barrat and aurèce vettier.

Furthermore, we are in advanced talks with Bowery Poetry and Time Out Market in New York and The Betsy Hotel in Miami Beach to organize live poetry readings and immersive spoken-word exhibitions.

Curators such as Linda Dounia and Jesse Damiani have confirmed that they will be curating special exhibitions for theVERSEverse in 2022. Furthermore, we are actively working with CADAF and Refraction Festival to include dedicated VERSEverse installations within their 2022 programming.

We are all confirmed speakers for NFT.NYC where we will present a panel on theVERSEverse’s work. Kalen plans to attend and speak at NFT Lisbon.

Individually, Kalen, Sasha, and Ana have sold poetry NFTs across a variety of platforms to major collectors including The Funny Guys, Mario Klingemann, Travis LeRoy, Silver Surfer, Jordan Lyall, Kevin Abosch, Fanny Lakoubay, Elsie Edicurial, Basileus, and others.

Sasha has collaborated with key new media curators (including IX.Shells/Itzel Yard, Sofia Garcia, Jess Conatser, Joanie Lemercier) and organizations (CADAF, DAM Paris, Infinite Objects, Times Square Arts) on commissioned works, special editions, virtual events and experiential installations. Her work has been exhibited in analog and digital realms including a solo show titled “Ars Poetica Cybernetica” at the ArtYard museum; on screens across France for Digital Art Month Paris; on the runway at New York Fashion Week; and on VR billboards in Times Square, NYC, for Virtual New Year’s Eve 2021, organized by One Times Square.

  1. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into the Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

theVERSEverse will be a diverse community, featuring works in different languages and collaborating with global artists at different stages of their artistic journeys. By its very nature, theVERSEverse seeks to present poems as works of art, opening up the definition of the latter to include new ways of engaging with written text.

  1. Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with for this Space? Have they committed to participating yet?

The following crypto artists are already working with theVERSEverse:

  • aurèce vettier
  • Anna X Malina
  • Sarah Ridgley
  • Merchant Coppola
  • Christian Bok
  • Pierre Gervois
  • Ivona Tau
  • Linda Dounia
  • Layla Pizarro
  • Rose Jackson
  • Nathaniel Stern
  • Vanessa Coleman
  1. Please provide any additional details you can about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of exhibitions, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

Our curated collection will be updated frequently with new 1/1 editions. Each piece will be utterly unique, with scarcity driving demand. Where possible, we will tie this in with the poet’s publicity efforts in traditional media – e.g., coordinated to align with book launches, publishing conferences, appearances at major writing events and so on.

Our GenTexts drops will be released on either a quarterly cadence, in limited editions and priced more gently to engage with a broader audience.

Both 1/1s and GenText will be promoted via our weekly Twitter Spaces as well as via other social and IRL channels and through our advisor/guest curator networks.

  1. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

Our mission as a gallery is to empower poets creatively and financially. We price with this in mind, with a split between the gallery (20% after gas and related fees), the poet (78%) and the gallery’s advisor (2%). When a work is created by both poet + artist, we will split the total sale price to reflect this (39% to the poet and 39% to the artist).

  1. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

We believe that NFTs represent a fundamental shift in self-expression – a technology that empowers radical imagination and unlocks new realms of creativity and collective knowledge. As poets, we see the revolutionary potential of NFTs on a continuum from the origins of oral storytelling to the development of written language to the invention of the Gutenberg printing press – all steps that revolutionized our capacity to understand the world around us, and our ability to know ourselves.

Now, via text-based tokens, words leap off the printed page (cutting-edge tech in Gutenberg’s time) and into the ether, our new medium for thinking, linking, sharing, existing. At the same time, NFTs weave us together into highly networked communities and equitable collectives with potential to disrupt established power structures, toppling entrenched systems of thought and making game-changing innovation feasible.

It is impossible not to envision that blockchain technology will profoundly reshape what it means to be human, just as the arrival of printed books in the 15th century played a key role in the Renaissance, the Scientific Revolution, and the Age of Enlightenment, defining the modern human experience as we have known it.

The importance of storing poetry on the blockchain is the same as the benefit of storing poetry anywhere: poetry itself. But, beyond the basic utility of communal chronicling, poetry and the blockchain also have a shared connection to memory. Some might say that the blockchain stores facts, while poetry stores emotions, impressions. However, in truth, poetry stores culture itself—the Odyssey, Beowulf, the Bhagavad Gita, the Divine Comedy, the Shijing—all poems. Virgil was essentially commissioned by Rome to write the Aeneid so as to define a tried and true Roman. He modeled his hero after Ulysses but bestowed upon Aeneas one new key trait—that of duty to country. For the Romans, poetry told them who they ought to be.

You can read a biography of Oscar Wilde and imagine what his years in jail must’ve been like, or you can read “The Ballad of Reading Gaol” and know what he felt. Poetry is knowledge of other, which translates into knowledge of self.

NFTs have the power to infuse poetry with value, reenergizing their communal transactions.

  1. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

Our space is a shot of aguardiente, Colombia’s national liquor, whose name, literally, means “fire-water.” Yet, the drink itself is clear, neat, aromatic, and straightforward. At a lower proof than most other liquors, aguardiente can be consumed slow and long into the night, like a well-crafted text. Proof of patience, proof of poetry.

  1. Anything else you’d like the community to consider?

There’s never been a more exciting time for poetry. From Rupi Kaur to Amanda Gorman, words feel especially essential and inspiring in our current cultural moment. This is true also in the NFT space and is manifested in a growing market appetite for literary NFTs, as seen in examples of some poetry works selling for as much as $75,000 on platforms like Nifty Gateway. (Instagram Poet Sells NFT Poem for $75,000 1).

According to a 2018 study by the National Endowment for the Arts, the number of adults reading poetry grew by 76% between 2012 and 2017. What’s more, the percentage of poetry readers in the 18-24 demographic doubled over those same years.

As active members in the crypto writing movement, we have also witnessed a great influx of new talent into the space. All of this leaves us with no doubt that poetry, as an art form, will make big waves in the NFT world, and we are well-positioned to bring outstanding collections of poetry as art to SuperRare.

My name is Chikai Ohazama. I was one of the co-creators of Google Earth and this past year I dove head first into NFTs. I started by buying one NFT and then another and another. And with each purchase, I started to uncover one of the most incredible communities I have ever seen in my life. I quickly became an active collector, but honestly I just saw myself as merely a fan. A fan of art. A fan of artists. A fan who can’t believe he gets to hang out with all of these amazing brilliant people. And that’s it. That’s the core of why I’m here, I love the art. I love the artists.

And when you love something, you want to find ways to support it and help it succeed. So I took the skills I developed building and scaling Google Earth and put them to work. I built Superniftyfan, which began as a tool to help me organize the NFTs I wanted to buy and it has grown into a platform and a brand that I am using to help bring more visibility to more artists. It has spawned several projects like GMGN, which is a social network built for NFTs from the ground up (currently in private alpha), and MONOLITH Gallery, where I am reimagining what a gallery should look like and pushing forward the importance of curation within the NFT space (launching soon). The core idea behind MONOLITH Gallery is very well aligned with SuperRare Spaces, which is why I adopted this new name with my second entry into the Space Race. Superniftyfan also includes a merchandise store, rankings for upcoming categories, and many projects and collaborations with artists.

And for the moment, it’s just me. There is no team of people behind me. I’m doing all the coding, designing, social media, networking, deal making, collaboration, as well as all the dirty grungy work to make this all happen. Even though this is a lot of work, it has allowed me to be incredibly independent both in choosing what I do, but also in my role within the community. It has allowed me to have a much closer relationship with artists and support them in a way that I don’t think I could have done had I been part of a larger organization.

I have also grown into a community leader role, which I really did not expect. As I mentioned before, I started as a collector, but over the course of this past year, I’ve spent more and more time advising artists and working with other leaders in the community. I’ve also spent more time helping educate people and providing them with a better understanding of everything that is happening in the NFT world. I’ve started a Twitter Space called “NFT Coffee Break” where I spend an hour each week answering questions. I’ve started writing a weekly Twitter thread of the same name that is a “week in review” of all the major NFT news and events. It was never my intent to become a community leader, but I have grown into it organically. At first I didn’t really think much of it, but I’m starting to take it more seriously and I hope to be a vocal advocate for the values and principles that many of us believe in.

7. Summary/manifesto of your Space (~500 words). What is your unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

I am a champion for the unseen artists and the underappreciated art forms, the diamonds in the rough, the ones that sometimes aren’t the loudest voices on social media, and I want to give them the attention and respect they deserve. In order to accomplish this, I need to look where nobody else is looking. I need to reach out to artists that nobody else cares about. I need to look under the rocks where everybody else is too lazy to look. These are the artists I want to support, these are the artists I want to help shed more light upon.

But among those artists, there will be a few that will make a breakthrough in their work and they are the ones that I want to recognize and lift up with my SuperRare Space. I want to be the first person to tell that artist that they deserve to be in a top tier gallery and their work is worthy of its own exhibition. I want to be the first person to tell them that their art should be worth so much more than their current reserve price. And I want to show them this respect by inviting them to my SuperRare Space. The space will be highly curated. The space will be an exclusive group of artists. The art will be exceptional and it will lean towards up-and-coming art forms that have not yet reached the mainstream.

But these new artists will not only need attention and a platform to recognize the value of their art, but they will also need great mentorship from those that have blazed the path before them. So to that end, I will be inviting legendary artists into my SuperRare Space to help bring visibility but also their knowledge and experience to this exclusive community of artists. And in this wonderful new world of NFTs, who is new and who is legendary may not always be mutually exclusive. A legendary artist who has never minted an NFT could be invited into the space and so learning will be shared all around.

This is my vision for my SuperRare Space. I want to make the unseen seen. I want to bring together the old and the new. I want to bring together artists who have reached that next level of excellence and create a warm and supportive community that will lift up all parties involved.

8. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:

I think there is no better way to show my experience curating and promoting artwork than to give you concrete examples of each. NFTs are such a brand new medium that I believe it will take a brand new approach to find and promote artists, so much of what I’m going to highlight are experiments. They are not traditional approaches to art promotion, they are as much about seizing an opportunity as it is about creative brainstorming. But at its core, it’s about building trust and support from the community. Without that, no artist will work with you. No collector will listen to you.

My approach to curation and promotion has evolved a lot from when I started, especially since the first Space Race. In the beginning, I was very scrappy, using whatever resources I had to help bring visibility to artists.

I featured artists on the Superniftyfan homepage:

I did special collaborations with artists like the Superniftyfan Hero Series.

I used my Twitter profile banner and even did a fun profile photo to showcase art and artists.

And sometimes it wasn’t just artists that I highlighted, but also other collectors. I read a great interview of Bharat Krymo by Dave Krugman on his Allships blog and I loved a one-liner that Bharat said in the interview: “Fade the herd”. So with Bharat’s approval, I created a custom hoodie with his quote.

But as I mentioned, my approach to curation and promotion has evolved from this initial grass roots approach. The two key tools I use now are Twitter threads and Twitter Spaces. I’ve always written Twitter threads, but some of it has become more formalized by my recent “NFT Coffee Break” series. Twitter Spaces however has been a more recent addition for me. After Omar Z Robles invited me to one of his Spaces, I’ve slowly used it more and more as part of my interaction with the community. In addition to my weekly “NFT Coffee Break” Space where I do an “office hours” Q&A show, I’ve also been invited as a guest on other people’s Spaces as well as asked to host Spaces for artists who are dropping a new piece. I’ve hosted Spaces for the Metascapes launch, Joanne Hollings SuperRare genesis drop, Julia Sky’s SuperRare genesis drop, and Caitlin Cronenberg’s “The Endings” collection drop. I’ve been surprised how effective Spaces have become to promote and bring visibility to artists, so I’ve started to participate and use that medium more and more.

One other unique way I’ve promoted artists is creating trailers. I don’t use it often, but sometimes I’m so inspired by an artist and their work that I create a trailer expressing how much I love what they do. I think the first time I did this was with Billy Dinh.

But then more recently, I did it for Cait Cronenberg and her collection “Figure Studies”. I truly loved the collection and I wanted to help her get the last piece sold and so I created a trailer for it. In less than 24 hours, the piece got a bid and she was able to sell out the collection.

9. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

I think the core of this question is to show that you have the network and the skills to sell art, which at the end of the day is the fundamental service that SuperRare provides and SuperRare Spaces will provide. But let’s first start with the question about networking with collectors. As I mentioned in my bio, I am a collector. It’s the role I started out with in the NFT world and I am still a very active collector. So being a collector, you naturally start to make friends with other collectors. I often reached out to more established collectors to get their advice and later it was with peers to share artworks and what we’ve learned. But collectors and artists are not mutually exclusive, you may identify yourself as one or the other, but many participate as both. I’m more of a collector, but I have minted some NFTs, though most have been collaborations with other artists. So in that sense, my network of artists is also a network of collectors. And all of this came from just being part of the community. If you are inquisitive and friendly, it is not hard to meet great artists and collectors in the NFT world. I’ve been so surprised by how warm and welcoming the community has been. I could not be more thankful for all the friendships I’ve made. So the network is there, the key is how to use it properly and effectively.

When I first started getting into NFTs, I had no previous experience or career in the art world. So how do you learn to “sell art” when you start out with nothing? I wasn’t a whale and so I couldn’t buy my way into it. It was just me, my laptop, and a little bit of ETH. If you were selling art in the physical world, you would probably need to rent a space and set up a gallery of some sort, on top of cultivating relationships with artists and operational things like processing payments. In the NFT world, you don’t need any of that. The ERC721 smart contract has pretty much everything you need to start selling art and there are numerous NFT platforms to help you set that up. But that also means that artists don’t really need anybody else when they want to sell their art and that has been a large part of the value and power of NFTs. It has totally cut out the middleman. So how do you learn to “sell art” in the NFT world?

I did it for free. I did it without even asking the artist about it beforehand. I’d just find an artist I truly loved and started tweeting about why I loved them. And that’s how I started. Initially I focused on collections and my goal was to do whatever I could to get that collection to sell out. It was sort of a test to see if I could make it happen and had the ability to “sell art”.

I did it with Michelle Viljoen’s “From The Other Side” collection by writing an in depth thread about her collection and it sold out just one day later.

I did it with Tom Quan’s “Shapes of Japan” collection by simply asking questions about his work and it sold out a few days later.

I do not in any way claim to be the sole reason that these collections sold out, but I do believe I was a catalyst. I began to have enough successes that artists started reaching out to me for advice and help. And so I offered to help some of those artists promote their collections. I did my first Superniftyfan logo feature and top featured section take over with Tommy Quak and his collection “NYC (for Louis Vuitton)”, plus did a custom t-shirt that I sold in the Superniftyfan store. The collection sold out the next day.

I worked with Tony Sellen and his “White Lines” collection and offered a free t-shirt with the “White Lines #1” on it if it sold out. It sold out 8 hours later.

And you’ll notice with all of these, I focused on a very specific segment of the market and in this case it was photography collections, which were just starting to pick up at the time. It allowed me to learn that market well enough to understand how to navigate it and put more successes under my belt than I would have if I were too broad in my scope.

But I also continued to pick artists out of the blue and tweet about how much I loved them with no notice to the artist, especially if they were in categories I had not really established myself in and if the category seemed to have latent potential.

One example of this is Trippy Headz, which was 100 hand painted abstract portraits. I can’t remember how I came across them, but I bought a few and did a long thread on why I loved each one that I bought. I featured them on the top featured section of Superniftyfan and continued to tweet about them. I even predicted that the collection would sell out in 24 hours and then it actually did sell out in 24 hours.

I’ve also done numerous collaborations with artists, where usually I had a crazy idea for a project and then I’d get an artist to sign on to do it with me. My very first one was with George Williams and it was called “Portrait of a Collector”. You can read about the full details of the project in my blog post. There were 10 pieces and we launched each one, one by one, and they all got bids in less than 24 hours. The pinnacle of this series was when we sold the one I was planning on keeping for myself for 43 ETH.

https://foundation.app/@chikai/~/51816

Another collaboration I’ve done was with the incredible painter Tania Rivilis and it is probably one of the best examples of how I would work with an artist to promote their art and manage it towards a successful sale. She originally came to me asking for feedback on an idea and as we started talking about it, the idea evolved into an even bigger idea that we were both very excited about. I offered to collaborate with her on the project, sort of like I did with George Williams, and she immediately agreed. The next thing I know, she was sending me photos of all the materials she had just bought for the project.

Tania is an incredible painter and it is just stunning how fast she works. She went from idea to finishing 36 separate portraits in just 3 weeks. And as the project progressed it went from a collaboration to more of a curator/artist relationship. She just took our idea by the horns and rode it to completion. I helped to develop the release and pricing strategy and I worked with her to promote the project. So in the end it was actually a nice practice run for how I might manage artists in my SuperRare Space. The project was called “We The Punks” composed of 36 portraits and it sold out in two hours.

https://opensea.io/collection/we-the-punks

So it’s not a traditional path of learning how to sell art, but I’ve definitely learned it by the seat of my pants in this fast moving world of NFTs.

10. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

If I understand this correctly, the key part of this question is “new”, where “new” is referring to artists who have not yet minted an NFT and are not yet in the CryptoArt space.

I have two specific artists in mind. They are world class artists in their respective fields and they are close personal friends. I have talked to them and they have both agreed to participate in my Space if I were to receive one.

Benny Gold

https://www.bennygold.com/

Benny Gold is a legendary street wear designer. He started with just a sticker of a paper airplane and the words “Stay Gold” and built it into a global brand. He has done collaborations with Nike, Jansport, designed the original HUF logo, and worked with brands like Supreme. Benny and I have been talking about NFTs for a while and how to do his first NFT, so this was a perfect opportunity and I’m very thankful that he agreed to participate.

Julie Chang

https://www.juliewchang.com/

Julie Chang is an extraordinary contemporary artist. She uses intricately woven patterns and images to create beautiful works of art that have so many layers of meaning and symbolism. One of the most public displays of her work is the Grand Hall terrazzo floor of the Salesforce Transit Center in San Francisco. It spans 20,000 square feet and it is truly stunning to see. I’ve always wanted to work with her on a project and so I asked her if she would be willing to participate in my SuperRare Space if I were to get one. She instantly said yes. I had to make sure she understood what I asked, but she is one of those incredible people who will jump in head first into something new, half knowing what it is, just because you are right there with her jumping in.

11. Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with? Have they committed to participating yet?

It’s always very humbling to ask people for a favor, especially in large numbers, which is what I had to do to pull together a respectable roster of crypto-artists to work with me for this Space. I asked those I had a long standing relationship with, across a wide range of artists both in terms of their style as well as their careers.

And I must say I was blown away by the response. I could not be more grateful to the following artists who agreed to participate.

Reuben Wu, Caitlin Cronenberg, Omar Z Robles, Brandon Lillibridge, Rizacan Kumas, George Williams, Tania Rivilis, Selay Karasu, Daria Antypenko, Natalie Shau, Local Machine, Rik Oostenbroek, Alberto Seveso, Arnaud Montagard, Christophe Tritz

12. If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

Reuben Wu, Caitlin Cronenberg, and Omar Z Robles all have incredible depth in their personal catalogs to bring together an exhibition fairly quickly. But I’d still like to give them at least a few weeks to a month to prepare. Reuben and I have been chatting for a while on what we could do, so I imagine that will come together fairly quickly.

Selay Karasu and I have been collaborating on a piece together for a while and we had planned to drop it in my SuperRare Space if I had won in Space Race #1. I think this one would come together pretty quickly too.

Tania Rivilis, Daria Antypenko, and Natalie Shau are all incredibly prolific. Tania painted 36 pieces in 3 weeks. Daria created the beautiful GMGN logo in less than a day. Natalie is always minting new works on multiple platforms. I can’t predict at this moment what their timeline would be, but I would not be surprised if they could be ready in less than a month with either work they already have in process or new work that they may want to do.

13. Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

My thinking around the operation of my Space has evolved quite a bit since Space Race #1 both in terms of the mechanics, but more importantly the philosophy behind it. I have come to believe that curation will be a critical component in keeping the NFT ecosystem healthy as it faces tremendous growth in this coming year. Curation needs to be valued, it needs to be compensated, and it needs to happen at scale. Curation is often equated with gatekeeping because that’s the way it worked in the traditional art world. But in this new world of NFTs, I think we have the opportunity to redefine it as advocacy.

I think SuperRare was very prescient in launching Spaces back in August 2021 both in terms of decentralizing curation on their platform but also in establishing the idea that curators should be paid by being able to take a commission. The SuperRare Space immediately connected with me in a deep way and I was instantly on board from the moment they said go. At first I was just excited to participate, but now I have a more focused mission in mind for my participation.

I want to show that it is possible to win a Space as an independent person. I want to show you can be successful running a Space as an independent person. I want to show it can be very lucrative running a Space as an independent person. By showing all of these things, I want people to realize that they can do it too, just on their own and they don’t need to be a big gallery or a whale to succeed. Curation needs to scale from where it is now and even from where SuperRare has leaped ahead to. MONOLITH Gallery has ambitions along these lines and will be making steps towards democratizing curation. But first people need to value it and we need a success story that seems attainable by most. My hope is that my SuperRare Space will be one of those first success stories that will show others that they can do it too.

As for the mechanics of operating the Space, the key evolution since Space Race #1 is the creation of MONOLITH Gallery. It was partially inspired by SuperRare Spaces (and the SuperRare Monolith at Art Basel!) but it is reimagining what a gallery space should look like and pushing forward curation by democratizing access and finding innovative ways of making it expansive versus restrictive. MONOLITH Gallery is meant to be more of a museum versus a personal gallery. It will have multiple “halls” for exhibiting work and it will not just be exhibiting work from my SuperRare Space, but it will be exhibiting work from anywhere and from anyone. The core concept and functionality is still continuing to evolve, but I hope it will help people rethink how to approach curation, exhibiting art, and selling art.

As for cadence, auction strategy, and number of artworks, what I’ve found from working very closely with many different artists is that those elements need to be in service of the art and the artist and not the other way around. Keeping that in mind, I imagine I will still try to keep some kind of consistent framework for MONOLITH Gallery as a whole. In addition, I will try to play to the strengths of the SuperRare platform and be mindful of the collector community surrounding it. Given the “halls” structure of MONOLITH Gallery, I plan to utilize a computer science concept called instruction pipelining, which is a technique for implementing instruction-level parallelism within a single processor (i.e me!). The basic idea is that each step of exhibiting and selling art pieces can be staggered in parallel, so that I can manage several artist exhibitions at the same time.

14. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

My plan is to follow SuperRare’s lead and keep the default 10% commission rate that was mentioned with the updated fee structure in the SuperRare 2.0 announcement. I like it because the take home amount for the artist remains the same whether they list on the main SuperRare site or in the SupeRrare Space. Also given that Superniftyfan (i.e. myself) runs incredibly lean, it will hopefully be enough to keep my efforts at least sustainable if not growing.

15. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

NFTs have opened up a global market for the incredible work of artists who have long been ignored. It has put artists in the driver’s seat and allowed them to take control of their future. I also think that NFTs have in a weird way created this new kind of “social network” that forms strong bonds and intimacy between the artist and the collector, the likes we have never seen before. I would have never anticipated that a cryptocurrency could create such a wonderful and supportive community, yet it truly has.

In five years, I expect to see at least a couple downturns in the NFT market and with each downturn there will be a purge of those who were just in it for the money and the quality NFTs will remain. This will only increase the overall value of NFTs and therefore bring in more participants into the ecosystem after each downturn. I also think there will be a change in the values of the average consumer with a strong shift towards digital assets. I think the majority of people will care more about their digital identity than their physical identity, and NFTs will be the dominant way to express this new identity. To meet this demand, I think NFTs will evolve into a new form. Avatars and virtual spaces are what people currently think will be the future. I predict it will not be any of these, but something totally different and unexpected. The metaverse will be a real place where people hang out and to Mark Zuckeberg’s chagrin it will not be owned by Facebook or any other company for that matter. It will be owned by everyone.

16. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

Omakase

“The phrase omakase, literally ‘I leave it up to you’, is most commonly used when dining at Japanese restaurants where the customer leaves it up to the chef to select and serve seasonal specialties… Customers ordering omakase style expect the chef to be innovative and surprising in selecting dishes, and the meal can be likened to an artistic performance.”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omakase

This dish speaks to my Japanese heritage. Both of my parents are from Japan and they immigrated to the US before I was born. It is a common story I hear amongst artists, many are immigrants, or children of immigrants. One person I know grew up in Russia and is now living in Germany. Another had parents who were from Bangladesh, grew up in London, but now lives in Japan. Another grew up in France, but now lives in the US. It speaks to how international everybody is in the NFT community and it is often a mix of multiple countries. Omakase speaks to the highly curated nature of the SuperRare Space I want to develop, just like the sushi chef chooses the best fish of the season to present to the customer and sometimes it’s not even fish but something totally unexpected. It is also a dish that is one of the highest forms of Japanese cuisine, speaking to the focus on quality, while the Japanese component speaks to the focus on specific art forms that may currently be underappreciated and overlooked as omakase once was in the food world. I think this dish is the perfect choice for a highly curated SuperRare Space and it has deep personal connections to myself. Omakase is also my absolute favorite food and is often what I have for my birthday dinner every year.

17. Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

The strongest voice I can offer for my consideration for a Superrare Space are those from the community. I asked for recommendations from artists and colleagues who I have worked with and they were generous with their time to write some kind words in my support.

I was first introduced to Chikai in a tweet he posted showing an NFT he acquired of mine, displayed on an impressive array of screens. I was surprised and flattered. We didn’t actually converse until a little later when I DMed him asking his opinion on my pricing strategy after he had posted a thread. I knew from the beginning that he was a powerful ally, and a real advocate for artists. Since then, we have kept in touch, we discuss ideas, and we have talked about possible plans for the future. I strongly recommend him for Superrare Spaces and know it will be a valuable partnership!

Reuben Wu

The one thing we value in Web3 above all else is community. There is nobody who better exemplifies the idea than Chikai. His sincere desire to connect, support, nurture and help is unmatched by any other collector I have connected with. He is generous with his time and knowledge, and has been my greatest cheerleader in all aspects of my NFT career thus far. In addition to being a friend to artists, he also has impeccable taste, which is clear when you view his collection. I can only imagine the beauty that will exist within Chikai’s SuperRare Space, and I will be thrilled to be featured among the other artists he will feature.

Caitlin Cronenberg

Chikai is a personable and canny art fan/enthusiast and collector. His keen eye for beautiful art in the NFT space combined with a genuinely warming and inquisitive character are magnetic. He’s an invaluable member of the NFT community and understandably held in the highest regard by those who connect with him, and rightly so. I personally found him empathetic and refreshing to chat to, and am truly honoured to have crossed his path. I couldn’t think of a better choice of curator for a SuperRare space.

Our chance connection via Marishca Becker’s retweet led to the single most exciting, fun and inspiring collab I’ve had the pleasure to work on in my career as both a traditional and digital artist. It was a true highlight in not only my artistic career but life in general, and it’s all thanks to Chikai’s ideas and inspiration,. To see this explosive energy in a curatorial form through SuperRare spaces would be incredible!

I’m indebted to know Chikai and amazed by the enthusiasm and support he brings to the community.

George Williams

Name a more supportive and involved community collector than Chikai - I’ll wait. It’s admirable that he humbly started by simply sharing what he loved. It reminded me of my own conservation journey and how we are naturally drawn to protect the places we love so it’s nice to see this organic passion overflow into a curator’s world. His curiosity and inquisitiveness strengthen the bond with artists and transforms him from a collector to a true fan! I support Chikai’s application to host a SuperRare Space even more after seeing his proposed lineup including legendary Reuben Wu and Rizacan Kumas and am curious to discover who else he has under his wing.

Gabriella Morton

Chikai is such a great guy! The passion, drive, and support this man has is everything this community needs. I have big love and appreciation for Chikai as he’s shown tons of support for me and many other great artists who truly deserve it, and his GMGN platform is very well done and a genius idea! A hard working and very likable person that I would be honored to mint my work in a Space of his…hats off to Chikai!

Brandon Lillibridge

Chikai is a visionary in the art of curation. He sees curation as an art and a tool—a way to empower creators and see art in ways that inspire. Superniftyfan and Monolith gallery are just two examples of his dedication and innovation in the web3 space. Chikai should win the Space Race: his vision, dedication, and innovation are so desperately needed in the curation world.

Pastel Papi

In this space I’ve met only a handful of people who truly embody the sense of community and selflessness. Chikai Ohazama is definitely at the top of that list. I’m honored to count him as one of my collectors but our relationship in this space began way before he collected any of my works. He takes time to listen to artists and colleges in the spirit to building tools for the betterment of the marketplace. I fully support this new initiative of his to provide a space within the SuperRare platform for artists from underrepresented communities.

Omar Z Robles

Chikai is a beacon in the NFT community, and I feel fortunate to have connected with him. His love of art, curation, and community focus permeate through all his actions. He has invested time into building products, collections, and relationships in the NFT community that truly stand out. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of a SuperRare Space than Chikai.

Local Machine

Chikai is always one of the first people I talk to when I am sharing new work or new concepts - he has such a strong eye and ability to build a community of support around artists in a genuine and affable way.

Marc Hemeon

Chikai proposed to me a collaboration and I gladly accepted as I found it a very interesting and even fun way to expose my art. The whole process went smoothly and despite my language limitations, Chikai made it easy for me to bring it all to a successful conclusion quickly. My two works were sold almost instantly and that gave me great satisfaction on an artistic and personal level. Chikai would be the right person to impeccably manage a platform in Superrare.

Ada Crow

Chikai is definitely one of the brightest stars in the NFT sky. I don’t know anyone who puts so much love and effort into their projects to advance the community. Countless collaborations and friendships have been created through his talent to recognize the special and bring us together. He is a supporter, friend and mentor and I am sure he will make many uncut diamonds shine.

Beka Gwarliani

Being very fresh to the NFT world can be a very overwhelming experience, especially as it’s nothing like the traditional art world I am used to. But I am fortunate enough to have met Chikai through my friend Reuben Wu. Chikai helped explain certain aspects of the space, laid out the best practices, answered all the questions we had, and even helped promote our genesis collaborative series - A Tribute of What is Always Present w/ Arnaud Montagard. He is one of the most helpful people in the space - especially for artists entering it, which makes him one of the most important in my eyes.

Dino Kužnik

I met Chikai at the very beginning of my career and he was my first multiple collector. He is very caring to artists and one of the most important person in our community. Chikai always amazed me with his thoughtful approach to everything including people he cares about. He’s always wants to help this industry and make something new for all of us, to make some unideal things working better, for example Superniftyfan where you can storage all your favorite NFT. So he’s not only support artists with purchasing art and kind words, that always cheering up, but he really do amazing global stuff for all of us and help our community grow. He’s loyal support already change lives of many artists and mine as well. I am proud to know him and be a part of his beautiful collection.

Daria Antypenko

Chikai is the first collector I connected with, and that’s through him that I discover how human and kind could be the artist/collector relationship. He’s a huge support for me and many other artists!

Christophe Tritz

When I started NFTs, I reached out to many collectors in the NFT Twitter community for advice. Chikai was one of the few who graciously replied and offered his time to check out my work and answer any questions I had. He is a collector with a sharp eye, is active in the community, and all around good guy who supports emerging artists.

Tommy Kwak

Chikai is an amazing collector and a person - kind, friendly, supportive! He inspires and gives wise advices, he guides new NFT artists and supports them. I’m very thankful to Chikai and I’m lucky and proud to have my NFTs in his collection. I actually started my real NFT path after reading Chikai’s tweet that inspired me to create something unusual for me (a traditional artist) and to start being a real NFT artist!

Tania_Rivilis

I love the way Chikai promotes artists and puts them in the spotlight in an honest and humble way. He really takes the time to promote, to talk to artists and he is putting much energy in his own platform too. Simply super community minded with a good spirit.

Rik Oostenbroek

I met Chikai on Twitter, after discovering his unique NFT photography collection.

Later I was lucky to have my pieces in his collection as well. But I want to recommend him not because he collected my works, but because of what roles he plays in the NFT community. I really love how meticulous his approach to collecting is and how he introduces photography and art collections to the public.

His input and guidance is really helpful not only to NFT artists, but I am sure to many collectors as well. The NFT world may seem chaotic and difficult to navigate both for seasoned and beginner collectors, but Chikai brings some structure and curation to it, which is really needed in my opinion. And it is quite unique what he is doing with Superniftyfan.

Natalie Shau

Having to meet Chikai over the NFT community has been one of the greatest surprise I’ve encountered with. Such a great inspiration and a pioneer for the whole world with a humble personality; always supporting those around and directing artists such as myself to pursue their ambitions and dreams without any expectations in return is something absolutely rare to come across with. During our creation process, I had the opportunity and the privilege to get to know him closer and pick his brain while seeing his approach and point of view. He is the kind of a leader who not only respects and encourages your process but smoothly and respectfully guides you through the course of creating.

Selay Karasu

Chikai is one of the most active and supportive influencers in the space that I know of - always collecting, curating, and collaborating with artists big and small. He’s one of the community figures who genuinely cares about pushing the people and the space forward, and does so with skin in the game. I recently collaborated with him on a small project and would love to work with him again.

Michael Yeung

What can I say about Chikai? Well he is one of the brightest and most supportive person I know in the NFT space. As far as I know, being a collector requires a set of skills like being an artist and Chikai has all of it. His collection is amazing, full of beautiful and carefully chosen artworks. Beside collecting he finds creative ways to move this space even further into success and support new and already successful artists even more. I would confidently recommend Chikai for SuperRare space and I’m sure that he will be one of the most valuable members in the SuperRare community.

Hakinar

Chikai has become an integral part of the NFT and art community. His passion, enthusiasm and support of other artists is utterly infectious and highly valued by many. I absolutely see Chikai and SuperRare spaces as a perfect fit.

Tom Quan

Chikai has been a big supporter, investor, and leader in the NFT space with his brand Superniftyfan. He’s definitely helped me many times with his knowledge and guidance throughout my journey so far as a photography in the NFT space. I would highly recommend allow Chikai to have his own SuperRare Space to continue to promote, support, and share the work of other artists.

Billy Dinh

I met Chikai on Twitter and as a collector of one of my NFTs. A really nice and open person to the art world. I was very happy when he asked me if I would like to participate in a little project. The collaboration was wonderful. I can imagine that he will bring a valuable contribution to art and the NFT world with his vision and next projects.

Sutthiwat Dechakamphu (TheRafa_Arts)

Chikai is one of the most supportive people in NFT’s. He is always happy to give feedback and suggestions, not only on artwork but marketing it too. He created Superniftyfan for us artists, and it’s a great tool. I really hope I get to work with Chikai again, everything he does is a class above.

  1. The MintFace Space

The SuperRare Space will deliver a curated area for new work produced by the 100 artists selected for the Minted book.

The curation strategy of MintFace will be applied to the MintFace SuperRare Space:

:cherries: artist has a unique worldview or perspective on why they create.
:watermelon: artist has already sold digital artwork as an NFT.
:mango: artist is an active member of the NFT community on Twitter.

Aesthetic will focus on three areas, namely 2022 mints of generative, 1/1s and lens based art.

  1. Curation Experience

MintFace has been working with artists in NFTs since April 2021 and has a Twitter following and email distribution list of almost 10,000 artists, collectors and NFT degens.

MintFace is the primary art curator for Punk6529’s digital galleries. As part of the assignment, MintFace is the first point of contact for collectors and artists to place works into OnCyber galleries owned by Punk6529.

MintFace also curates and provides critique for artists in the Digital Artist Economy workshops.

  1. The Artist Plan

Yes. All artists that are selected for the Digital Artist Economy workshop would be eligible to be appraised for a potential showing in the MintFace SuperRare Gallery.

35 of the almost 100 artists in the Minted book have confirmed they wish to participate.

  1. The first exhibition launch date

31st March 2022.

  1. MintFace Space Operational Summary

Currently the cadence of releases are two new artists per week through MintFace.xyz. This cadence would continue with the added potential of building in new features for artists including auction setups and closer integration for collection launches for Digital Artist Economy workshop alumni.

  1. Commission Rates

Open to advice from SuperRare on this and working with the artists who are participating.

  1. The Future of CryptoArt and NFTs

The technology creates autonomy of art production without censorship or the temptation to formulate art the bends to the will of intermediaries. Art truly is free here.

14.If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

LOVE this question. The MintFace Space is the Sanderson Bar in London. More relaxed than the Ivy, more congenial than Tower 42… yet you feel you have arrived somewhere special…but you can’t exactly place your finger on why. Ambience permeates the space

  1. Additional Community Considerations

MintFace was the voice and the platform in 2021 and we will continue this in 2022.

Artists have arrived and now its our collective job to lift up those who are committed to their craft… and in parallel build a fairer, more equitable and more transparent way to introduce artists to collectors and vice versa.

Since 1998, Albertine Meunier explores the essential poetry and esthetics of the networks. She cultivates simple, minimal forms, which may sometimes appear to be tinkered from scratch, but she intentionally distances herself from the hyper-technicity of some digital artworks. Albertine leads us on a playfully, impertinently and drolly poetic journey.
She is also a digital art advisor for l’Avant Galerie Vossen.

Manifesto of our Space

  • Promotion of the emerging French Cryptoart Scene – Focus on early cryptoart aesthetic and themes.
  • New French Touch Space will be a combination of a digital and physical place to highlight French digital creation, with a pinch of French spirit, not necessarily limited to French artists.

We are revolutionaries! If there is a Gatekeeper to be beheaded, here we come!

As a nation, France has led the way for societal revolution to be adopted (sometimes a bit forcefully i’ll admit it) but ideas and artists freedom have been celebrated throughout history. We believe French creators have once again a role to play during the blockchain revolution that is on its way. We could be protectors of the original ideal of the blockchain by being curator of what represents the fundamentals of crypot art as a movement.

Financiarisation of art is unavoidable but the philosophication of NFT should be considered more for the long term perspective of the fantastic art created on the blockchain. The work of rationalisation of the different movements composing NFTs should give it all of its legitimacy in mainstream culture.

If art is THE thing that will help blockchain get into the “real” world and reach mainstream media then there isn’t any nation more experienced in artistic, societal and cultural revolution than France ! If you want NFT to be considered as “real art” by the everyday folk then let us lead the way.

In december 2021, Benoit organized and curated “Cryptoart Revolution”, the 1st French event focused on cryptoart.

“Cryptoart Revolution” consisted of:

  • An exhibition of emblematic works of cryptoart, from the permanent collection built since 2018 by MoCA
  • Capsule exhibitions of emerging and confirmed crypto artists, invited by the MoCA on this occasion. The public could buy these NFT works on site.
  • Conferences and debates which allowed visitors to better understand the Cryptoart / NFT market, its players and its challenges.
  • Workshops that concretely helped interested artists and art lovers to enter the world of Cryptoart / NFT. Visitors, artists or future collectors learned how to create their cryptocurrency wallet and create an NFT.

Over 400 people attended Cryptoart Revolution’s private opening and all the conferences and workshops were sold out many weeks in advance.

New artists we would like to bring into the Space in the first six months

The French crypto art scene is rich of many digital and traditional artists, OG crypto artists, inventors and other experimentator at the crossroad of art and technology. We have a few ideas of whom we shall be collaborating with but we’d like to keep this secret for now.

Most are artists that are well known among the french crypto art scene and NFT community but deserve to be better known abroad. Artists that members of the team themself have collected work from and/or worked with, some of which members of the teams knows personally.

Many are cross-medium working with traditional media, like musicians, painters and sculptors and innovatively porting it in NFTs, others work with AI, generative algorithms, 3D, interactive art, projection mapping, and robotics, we’ll have conceptual artists, illustrators, satirists, photographers, designers, of a broad range of aesthetic and genra all have a unique artistical universe we’d like you to discover.

We’ll assure, through collegeal governance, that we’ll provide an inclusive environment with a fair opportunity to all artists regardless of their difference of age, gender or origin.

The importance of NFTs as a medium/technology

NFT is disrupting the Art market to an extent that is still not yet fully understood. It is also a strong driver for a significant art renaissance led by new artists bringing a new energy to the art space.

NFTs are a very big change for digital artists, allowing them to finally make a living from their art. A lot of artists still need to be initiated into the crypto area scene. The Space can be a very big highlight for the french artists scene, showing them the power of the NFTs.

On the other side, becoming an art collector has never been so easy. It’s such a democratic contact with art. But, the crypto art scene can be a bit opaque when you start.

In five years, the Cryptoart space will be as normal as an Amazon order, as huge as the creation is, as powerful as the Blockchain is!

If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

BnoiitC
A surprising dish in a trendy boutique Paris restaurant

Albertine
A Croque Monsieur ! with a glass of Ruinart Rosé

Arthemort:
prop 1: If it was a cocktail it would be a Bloody Mary, a cocktail that could have only be created in the roaring 20’s when Paris was a place for artist over the world to express their liberty, and if for Ernest Hemingway this expression was a weird tomato base alcoholic cocktail, then so be it ! It’s weirdly yummy, you gotta admit it.

prop 2: if it was a beverage it would of course be a wine, an alcoholic beverage with a well recognized tradition and a complexity composed of tens of factors to consider. Some wine may elevate the experience of food in a way you couldn’t have imagine.

prop 3: If it was a dish it would be a loaf of bread, a dish that has been the basis of alimentation for thousands of years and that we still have yet to finish to innovate in its creation process and variances. The chef from the world’s best restaurant couldn’t think of not serving a top quality bread to go with his main course.

prop 4: If it was a cake it would be a macaron, delicate, pretty and widely appreciated, macaron have been known by foreigner through their classical flavor popularised by Ladurée but you’ll be surprised how many chef like Pierre Hermé have revolutionised it by proposing a seemingly weird new mix of flavor like a macaron au foie gras.

Anything else you’d like the community to consider?

France has a tradition of aesthetics that is recognized worldwide. Many skilled animators, illustrators, graphic designers, conceptor, in top studios and agencies like pixard are French.

France host some of the most innovative project in the technological field especially in AI, robotics, energy, transport, blockchain regulation, and metaverses. The tradition of innovation is century old, with early example of invention in aeronautics, aerospatial, cinema, network communication, miniaturisation, ect.

The democratic ideal lifted by DAO is also at heart of the spirit of the French nation and the ideas of the lumière, the human right declaration and the concept of laicity being one of the earliest concepts of inclusivity adopted by a society as a whole.

French or based in France artists like Moebus (an illustrator) and Vera molnar were pioneers of genre like generative art and have influenced pop culture, sci-fi and fantasy beyond imagination. The relative importance of French contemporary artists has always been undermined in comparison to their American peers, in the era of decentralisation it would be important not to reproduce the same mistakes.

Many now consider bluechip artists in NFT that you probably know are French and influenced by this culture and its references in their creative process.

The French NFT environment is thrilling with many teams backing top selling projects, and well known collectors backing it, IRL events and exhibitions have already taken place.

This space should be an accelerator for artists, collectors and developers to connect and build further what makes French creation so unique.

The NFT French scene is currently emerging and the New French Touch Space team is part of many ongoing projects involving French artists and institutional players.

We feel this is the right time, with the launch of New French Touch, to give shape to the emerging French Cryptoart scene and a unique opportunity for SuperRare to take the lead in this territory and extend its global footprint.

This is also a critical turn for historic cryptoart actors like SuperRare to keep momentum and maintain their lead while prestigious, deep pocket, well established traditional art players are still trying to figure out how to catch up and invest the space, capitalizing on their physical territorial presence and IRL network.

New French Touch also has the ambition to set standards for future territorial SuperRare Spaces and will be happy to share experiences with future Space candidates.

  1. Summary/manifesto of your Space (~500 words). What is your unique value prop/elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

The Joy of NFTs will serve as a space to open the conversation between artists, collectors, and members of the NFT community. The show has a unique concept where the community participates in selecting the theme of every episode. On each episode, you will not only enjoy interesting conversations but also get a glimpse into the artistic process of creating an NFT. Each artist will have 10 minutes to do a sketch and walk the audience through their creative process.

Each show will feature artists and collectors in the NFT space.
We’ll showcase the talents of all artists—from hungry up-and-comers to established veterans—as they show how they create their masterpieces. Whether it’s motion graphics, 3D, sculpture, photography, or any other field of art, we want to show how they make their NFTs.
Lastly, the show will give back to the community by dedicating a percentage of every sale to the person who submits the theme of the episode.

It’s also very important to us that we bridge the gap between the Spanish-speaking world and NFTs. To accomplish this, we’ll have Latin and Spanish speakers and artists on the show to spread knowledge about the NFT space. We want to embrace the history of Latin cultures while also bringing new information to communities worldwide.

The Joy of NFTs will educate, entertain and inspire artists and creators around the world.

  1. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:

In 2021, we’ve curated pieces for Sotheby’s Metaverse exhibit featured along with collectors such as 888, Steve Aoki, Mondoir, Paris Hilton, Pranksy, PleasrDAO, and many others.

In the past year, NFTGirl has grown to over 86k followers across all social media platforms. In 2021, we reached 2 million impressions among an audience of artists, collectors, and entrepreneurs in the web 3 space.

In the works for the remainder of 2022 is the growth of multiple accounts including:

• The Joy of NFTs show on YouTube
• Twitter Spaces
• The NFTGirl podcast on Spotify (and all other streaming platforms)
• NFTGirl Instagram
• NFTGirl Tik Tok Page

All these platforms will work together to showcase the art of upcoming artists and established creatives in the space.

  1. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

NFTGirl currently organizes weekly digital events covering informational topics, networking opportunities, and community meetups.

In addition to Sotheby’s Auction, 2021 was filled with opportunities to network. We are always connecting with collectors and creators of the space through twitter spaces, direct messages, and face-to-face events. Web3 conferences like NFT-NYC, SXSW, NFT LA, Art Basel Miami, Bitcoin Miami are a few of the events that have allowed interactions between NFTGirl, collectors, and artists.

We will also be involved in curating art for NFTLiverpool, a new interactive art exhibit, sponsored by TIME, Rug Radio, and Adelia Art Gallery.

  1. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

We would like to bring up artists that are part of the NFTGirl Collection as well as new artists. NFTGirl maintains a relationship with them as a collector or as an admirer of their work.

  1. Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with? Have they committed to participating yet?

So far, we have confirmed participation from artists like Aeforia, DeeKayMotion, Oelhan, Emonee LaRussa, Lisa Odette, Jakob LR, Chad Torkelson, Coldie, Parrot, Oscarasecas, Laurie Greasley, Hashmukh Kerai, Atlaude, Adrian Belastegui, Oxeegeno, UntitledArmy, OtherWorld and received over 300 applications from NFT artists that would like to participate.

  1. If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?
As soon as we have access to Space, we can start dropping finished pieces from the show.

  2. Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

On each episode of The Joy of NFTs Show, we connect with artists and influential community members to create NFTs live! The whole experience is interactive with the audience.

A breakdown of The Joy of NFTs:

  • We ask fans on Twitter to submit their choice for a word to inspire that week’s creation.

    • Words can be as intuitive as “beach” or as ambiguous as “treachery”; each artist must create a piece inspired by this word.
  • Once the artists finish their pieces, we film the reveal and the NFTs will be added to the SuperRare Space Gallery.

    • Once minted they will be available for purchase and the proceeds will be split between the artists, community, and The Joy of NFTs.
    • Each episode and piece will be promoted on all social platforms and podcasts.
  • New Episodes are released every Friday on YouTube (The Joy of NFTs - YouTube)

  1. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

Primary Sale:
80% for the artist
14% for The Joy of NFTs Show
5% for SuperRare
1% for the community member

  1. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

NFTs are the building blocks for a next-generation digital world. In 5 years, I see society using NFTs as proof of ownership for all types of assets including art, real estate, collectibles, events tickets, documents, etc. Some of the largest video game companies are already experimenting with NFTS and in half a decade we’ll see gamers own their digital items and participate and get rewarded in digital economies. Web3 is all about transparency, decentralization, and empowering the people. NFTs allow creators of all industries and of all backgrounds to benefit from their work without relying on a middle man.

  1. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

If The Joy of NFTs was a dish it would be a Pabellon.
image

Pabellon is a traditional Venezuelan dish comprised of rice, shredded beef, plantains and black beans. Just like Pabellon, the Joy of NFTs is authentic and inclusive.

  1. Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

We hope to continue to support artists in the NFT space with everything we do. We believe that hosting our gallery on SuperRare will allow us to give the best platform to the top artists and a better solution for the stars of tomorrow.

  1. Short bio of you and/or your team:
  • We are a collective of artists who come from the gaming and film industries and have longed to use these powerful tools of cinema to create content with deeper spiritual meaning. With access to thousands of content creators in the gaming industry, along with our experience in 2D traditional arts, all of the work presented by Realdream is at the intersection of cutting edge patented technology and traditional media to create epic meaning.

  • We curate with purpose. Our core team is made of lifelong practitioners who are both creative and impact-driven to communicate stories and truths of humanity’s spiritual influences. We bring a balanced circle of expertise of over 15+ years in the film and gaming industry, diversity and inclusion through the arts, independent curating, and our own spiritual journeys to create a holistic collective of creators.

  • A Proof-of-Concept for Spaces actually began with our SuperRare exhibit Transform. We value a critical approach to allyship and inclusion, and bring that into our curatorial decisions… Our genesis collection in collaboration with SuperRare called Transform, for Native American heritage month, we emphasized healing our relationships together through international and indigenous artists side-by-side uplifting their own authentic stories. In partnership with the Canadian Consulate, National Chief Archibald, Senator McCallum, and artists across the USA and Canada, we were able to create real change through the power of authentic self-determined artist storytelling + the need for mutually beneficial and respectful relationships amongst diverse creators on this land we benefit from

  • We believe in paying it forward, and for November 2021 Transform gave 10% of its earnings to a Youth-Reconciliation initiative in Canada called 4rsyouth.ca.

The last few years we have actively been building our creative and professional expertise to create a powerful intersection - how can our technically talented creators can create meaningful works that convey the holistic spirit of humanity. Blockchain is here to help us show our art & grow our community internationally. We are big believers of web3 and want to be part of this revolution that will change our future and connections between machine and human species.

  1. Summary/manifesto of your Space (~500 words). What is your unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

We are continuously asking ourselves: whose story is being told, and how?

We want to leverage the power that the entertainment industry has on telling stories and narratives, to uplift meaningful messages. Our promise is that the spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental dimensions of our artists should come alive through our art. We want to transform the industries we come from, by ensuring we create content that document with dignity the holistic stories of humanity on the Blockchain.

We will:

  1. CREATE EPIC + EXCELLENT 1/1s Continuously uplift and curate voices from the gaming and film industries, partnered with our traditional artists, to tell powerful stories through high quality, rare collectible 1/1s

  1. TO DELIVER MULTI-INDUSTRY UTILITY; artworks will have unique utility in music, gaming, and film industries. They provide owners access to unique functionality in indie games, multiverse music concert experiences, or unlock unique features in the storytelling of affiliated productions.

  1. AND CURATE HEALING THROUGH ART: We believe artists drive the story of our society. Our curated Transform exhibit will continue to uplift artists to tell their story to lead the healing of our society. A percentage of works will always pay it forward to those best positioned to deliver community-driven needs in youth leadership and arts entrepreneurship.

We create epic and excellent 1/1s with powerful stories, to deliver multi-industry utility, and curate a healing space through art.

  1. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork: Showing our artwork

We have had extensive experience in marketing projects and initiatives in the traditional film, gamining, art show, and non-profit marketing platforms… However, most relevant for this application is our approach to marketing our genesis drop on SuperRare, Transform.

  1. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

We have had extensive experience in marketing projects and initiatives in the traditional film, gamining, art show, and non-profit marketing platforms… However, most relevant for this application is our approach to marketing our genesis drop on SuperRare, Transform.

. For the last collection released on Superrare, we used a hybrid marketing to launchTransform’s curated collection.

  • Digital marketing mixing physical marketing

  • physical artwork

  • artwork stickers with QR codes posted all over Los Angeles.

  • We created awareness and connected also on social media by creating a server on discord.

  • But most important, the connection on twitter space was a step further for the collection. People started becoming curious and engaged behind the idea of our collection that centered voices of Indigenous creators, in partnership with international creators.

  • We had the chance to do a live talk on youtube with AFN National Chief Archibald in Canada, and the Superrare team to talk about inclusion and the strong message behind this collection

  • We launched this genesis collection as an auction during thanksgiving to have a meaningful message. We sold 4/8 artworks at 2ETH each.

.

  1. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

Yes! We have a strong relationship to a range of creators. With over 15 years experience working with top Hollywood artists and creators such as Guillermo del Toro, Tim Miller, Sam Raimi and james Cameron, and creating cinematics for some of the top video games franchises of all time. Examples include, but are not limited to: Kino (art director for several Hollywood blockbusters), Julia (ex Blur creator and now at Pixar), Michael (ex Blur and now lead creator at Nvidia), Jordan (Digital Creator + NGO in development for children’s art education in Nepal)

We will begin by leveraging these connections and trusted relationships with top Game Studios, Hollywood Film Production Companies and developers, and pair them alongside traditional 2D creators. We will want to build up and onboard more Transform collaborators like Love Supay https://www.instagram.com/lovesupay/

Our drops will bridge these industries and bring them together to create meaningful art with epic meaning.

  1. Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with? Have they committed to participating yet?

While we have longstanding relationships with artists, digital creators, and the film + gaming industries, we are early in building our relationships with established CryptoArt artists, and are building trust and friendship with those we admire to ID our strongest areas of synergy.

  1. If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

We are ready to launch quickly. We have been busy building the behind the scenes relationships to launch strong. Our first exhibition will be ready 3 weeks after getting selected. We are ready to put in all efforts needed and show what we are capable of as a team of creators and artists. We connected with different NFT galleries in Los Angeles, CA and would be able to display our art into one of these and create more awareness on social media as well.

  1. Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

We will start with once a month releases, 10 artworks a month spread across our initiatives. Promotion will be through our industry leads and our team member Nicholas has a massive PR machine behind him to assist us.

1. REALDREAM UNREAL SERIES:

We pair artists from the traditional 2D world with our 3D artists to create powerful collaborations that tell a spiritual, emotional, physical story.

These exhibits would be a hybrid Physical + Virtual art interaction. Planning to host physical galleries in LA and Rome that will showcase both physical art and INTERACTIVE digital pairings. We are developing custom technology based on game engines to create NFT technology that can let the audience interact and “drive” the digital work

2. TRANSFORM series:

Model the power of Allyship and mutual respect by showcasing diverse artists uplifting their own authentic story, and how our relationships with each other can heal through art and diversity.

3. ROGUEWAVE CONCERTS: NFT SERIES:

Storytelling combined with epic musical composers, opera performances, and musicians. Our SuperRare NFTs use our artistic skills with breathtaking cinematics that give access to excellent music, composers from epic films, etc.

  1. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

We would structure commission rates by giving[a][b][c][d][e]:

  • 75% for the artist
  • 15% for the space team
  • 5% charity ID’ed by community
  • 5% Superrare treasury

Resale royalty:

  • 80% for the artist
  • 10% for space team
  • 5% charity
  • 5% Superrare treasury
  1. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

Will be the industry standard: public records of official certificate of authenticity for valuable items. Digital pairings with physical assets (artwork, products, etc) will be the gold standard. The most valuable digital records (nfts) will have the most artistry and skill.

  1. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

Mezcal negroni - smoky and international, sweet and pretty with a lot of depth. High end, luxurious, with earthy complexity. The intersection of international blending luxurious quality, with a powerful epic punch. Of course, all in the name of a mission that creates change.

  1. Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

We have absolutely loved working with SuperRare and its team on DEI, and are excited to take it to the next level. We are loving our fellow Space submissions, and we are enthusiastic to build with each other side by side, to bring vision and passion into our Web3 space together. We promise to be a healing and inspirational contribution to the collective!

To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?
NFTs are of prime importance for a number of reasons, most notably because of the authenticity and secondary sales they provide to artists. They also offer a new way of creating utility among salespeople and fostering the relationship between creator and collector. We see the cryptoart space spanning all industries and found in everyday physical spaces. It is only a matter of time before this technology expands and is accepted by the mainstream audience. We aim to lead this introduction with an emphasis on education and positivity, which will ensure the longevity and continued expansion of the industry.

7. Summary/manifesto of your Space (~500 words). What is your unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

Our process is centered around facilitating the dream project of our collaborating artists. It is quite straight forward as we constantly look for interesting artists and give them the opportunity to develop their own dream project.

We always commit financially through upfront payment and royalties to give the artist good and fair conditions to work from. The key for us is to provide an environment for the artist to be free to think, get inspired, passionate and have enough time to create something extraordinary.

We focus on an emerging world of art. Created by artists frequently hired by the entertainment studios for their exceptional talent and skills in visualizing the genres of Fantasy, sci-fi, comics, fan-art and mythical etc. Due to the fact that their work becomes entertainment rather than art, it is difficult to put a value on their knowledge and talent.

Our vision is therefore to make their skills accessible to collectors and connoisseurs and to help create a permanent niche for these highly talented artists in the artworld.

8. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:

We have established relationships with professionals from all over the world. This includes young upcoming artists as well as established household names.

We have developed a collaborative model where the work belongs to the artist. It’s as simple as that. We commission art mainly to ensure that there is a healthy development process and that the work being done is fairly reimbursed and on terms that we set up from a mutual understanding. We are not actively seeking ownership but rather trying to create a symbiosis where both the studio and the artist have a balanced sharing of the outcome. This means that sharing of potential IP and agreed royalties are based on and reflected by the setup collaboration, always in favor of the artist.

9. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

We are a young creative studio. However, with an extensive background in digital marketing, high profile event organization, social media campaigns, environmental research project guidance and fine art printing.

10. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

We are already in a creative process with the artists below and their work is already complete or entering into its final stages.

11. Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with? Have they committed to participating yet?

We are in discussions with a number of additional artists, including those already in the nft’s space as well as newcomers.

12. If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

2-3 weeks after acceptance.

13. Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

Monthly releases of unique digital offerings. Number of items per launched collection will vary from a single item to a larger series of motifs.

14. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

When minting the NFT, our works are in a sense already entering the secondary market from the artists point of view since our model compensates the artists even before the initiation of the creative process.

Nevertheless, the proceeds from all sales on Super Rare is a 50/50 profit split

15. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

Creative freedom = Great art. We aim to aid a modern creative renaissance.

NFT’s as a medium can serve to strengthen the bond between artists and their fanbase/buyers and allow for community based co-ownership.

16. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

Recipe 1628: Vanishing Ravioli.

This is one of Ferran Adrias most famous recipes from the iconic molecular restaurant “El Bulli”.

Excuisite, Rare, Evocative and Futuristic!

17. Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

Today, in well-written sci-fi novels, it is liberating how the authors manage to describe a multicultural world, where race, skin color, religion, political affiliation and ideological conviction are included as a completely natural part of the individual, but the story is never based on these individual differences but on the person and his deeds and that is where the story lies, that is where we form an opinion. Just as it should be.

CryptoArg is an Argentinian art collective that thrives to find the most unique and unexpected artistic expressions within the cryptoart space. We represent an ethereal network that promotes CREATION, COOPERATION AND EXCHANGE OF KNOWLEDGE between artists. As a geolocalized community, we are based on the collaboration and articulation of regional creative potential. We seek to link the abstract and power of the cryptoart world with the materiality of the physical circuits inhabited by the affective, sanguine, carnal and desiring bodies that form the community, in order to enhance the possibilities of the expressiveness.

7. Summary/manifesto of your Space (~500 words). What is your unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

Between the edges of an enormous and distant space, a series of people dwell in the terrible randomness of their convergence. Almost like extremophile life forms, they are linked by the particularities of an area as vast as it is austere. At least five of their main centers of interaction and activity are surrounded by the pampean plain, an overwhelmingly flat and bucolic extension, fertile land of mystery and the absurd, of romantic terror, of the contradictory fantastic.

In that collision between the possible and the impossible, the unexpected emerges, the strange forces that color any expression that pop up from that space. CryptoArg presents itself from that territory and cultural code, trying to focus on the features that open to more ideas instead of closing or defining us. Its space will be thought of as an editorial exercise that addresses the unprecedented proliferation of images, artistic production and expressive power that the cryptoart circuit fosters, and that in turn explores an artistic framework given in a regional specific context, in which unexpected art forms abound.

From a fictional device, we propose to decode a particular narrative, whose axis is given in syncretism. A fundamentally mutant and adaptive narrative will be our guide to go through a heterogeneous and prolific production, to present unique artists and to generate all kinds of internal articulations within the community, but which in turn can be linked to external actors or agents. The space will be exclusive mostly to Southamerican, Argentinian artists and special guests, giving local artists the opportunity to provide deeper context of their unique vision.

8. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:

Our seasoned heterogenous team, with years of metaverse know-how, has a vast grid of connections in the crypto space (artists, platforms, curators and collectors), and also in the traditional art world.

One of the latest achievements of CryptoArg was building a virtual museum on Decentraland and organizing exhibitions in collaboration with M0ca. We produced a massive physical exhibition (No existe tierra más allá, Dezember 2021) where +30 artists from the community showed their work, and was visited by over 800 people. CryptoArg has its own network of social media accounts and discord, that give platform to the participating artists.

9. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

CryptoArg has dropped massive and disrupting collaborations on Nifty Gateway and Async (“Sins”, “Chaos”, “Siempre En Otra Parte” and “Habitación Sur”), bringing together more than 50 thriving artists and their heterogeneous vision. All of our drops are creative interpretations with the individual perspective of each artist where we emphasize craft, innovation and experimentation.

10. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

Our collective is composed of more than 200 members and our main objective is to create bonds between Argentinian and Southamerican artists, focusing on bringing underappreciated artists to the spotlight.

We joined together to share information, resources and collaborate in the NFT space with each other, with other communities and with artists in the cryptosphere. Our ethos is to share, support and fulfill the nft world with interesting and beautiful art.

CryptoArg also has a minting fund program that has been supporting emerging artists with their drops actively.

11. Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with? Have they committed to participating yet?

Our collective is rendered with a vast variety of seasoned and emerging cryptoartists, willing to work together, re-evaluate art conventions, explore creativity and alternatives to traditional methods of creation.

12. If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

Based on the knowledge we have about the production of the artists in the community, the previous work together and the relationship built, we would be ready to launch our first edition one month after being selected.

13. Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

The space will be built from an editorial identity, presenting at least one monthly proposal, following the premise of working from the decoding of local narratives, their fantastic and unexpected character, to explore in each edition different themes and styles within the production inside CryptoArg. Our proposal is to build bridges between the divergences that make up our community, to give visibility and an enabling context to both emerging and established artists.

We have a long history in the cryptoart ecosystem, we know its participants as well as they know us. Our strategy is to make the space a meeting place for artists, and between artists and collectors. And the proceeds will be part of the CryptoArg fund, with which we carry out different actions for the benefit of the community.

14. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

Artist: 85%

Cryptoarg: 10%

SuperRare DAO: 5%

15. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

NFTs represent a revolution that has been a long time coming, a major shift in culture and modern technology, meaningful intellectual property and extraordinary community.

It is important to underline the impact NFTs are having on emerging economies such as the Argentinian, where the economy is unstable and constantly in recession.

Therefore, for a place like Argentina, it presents a possibility to have the time and the tools to create, and this is a radical change that promotes the growth of the artistic field, and increases the number of people who are working on art.

We think that the NFT and Cryptoart space is just beginning, and in five years several different kinds of art forms will take place, producing a lot of meaning and changing the way we think about the economy. NFTs and Cryptoart will lead to a shift in the way art is perceived. It will be perceived as a practical life path helping everyday people realize their true destiny as artists.

16. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

Mixed with steroids, national vegan and non vegan dish (grill / asado), paired with a king size bottle of Argentinian fine wine (Malbec). Because this amazing trans bucolic dinner is oddly possible. :wine_glass:

17. Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

We think CryptoArg will go down in history as one of the most significant cryptoart movements at large, empowering Southamerican and Argentinian creators in a way we haven’t seen before.

5. Short bio of you and/or your team:

I was born in USSR where the avant-garde was not recognised, it existed only at secret apartment exhibitions. My friends and I often dreamed of being able to exhibit it openly. We lived in hope for freedom and peaceful reunification of the world in the art space.

In the 1990s, my country, Georgia, found itself in the middle of the war. As a young artist who disclaimed weapons, I was forced to emigrate to Russia as a refugee.

Once in St. Petersburg, I sold my art on the streets of the city, because my works were not accepted at that time by the official Union of Artists. There was no gallery culture at that time either, so we soon began to organise exhibition spaces for ourselves by trial and error and build the future we have come to today. Becoming an art-dealer and gallery owner, I wanted to help non-systemic underground and non-institutional artists like me create an open space of acceptance.

At that time, only after the collapse of the USSR, Russian artists were popular and there was a kind of boom in the market for their work. Soon I began to sell and promote older artists - 60s and 70s, the second avant-garde. Many brilliant, but completely unknown Soviet artists began to be valued dearly – this is how we formed a market, reliable and stable, investments in which are still justified. At the same time, in 2000, I opened my own space where collectors could see art, and already in 2003 it became a full-fledged public space with frequent exhibitions and lectures. The team and I carefully and confidently raised our collectors, explained, taught them to collect, and at the same time strengthened the positions of Soviet non-conformist art. Now it is a brand and a serious investment opportunity.

Of course, I also have a serious collection of such art - I believe in it, love it and see the revolutionary and militant fervour that helped me, who has been a witness and participant in complex political processes, government decisions and their consequences too.

However, as a person, a collector and a gallery owner, I understand more and more clearly that the new time poses new problems and challenges: personal, political, social . And it is not always possible to answer them in the old ways, outdated visual language, so my team and I refocused on contemporary Russian art. Among only emerging artists, street artists and interdisciplinary figures, we have been opening those who are the most sensitive to modernity for more than five years. And we promote them on the art market not only because this is our business, but because we believe that sincerity and good taste are things that remain relevant for a long time.

Now our team actively curates in the city, cooperates with the largest museums and participates in fairs, continuing to form a community of people around us who find what they really care about here.

The world is changing and transforming into a digital one. We also do not want to stay in the same place. We want to go one step further, transform and enable artists to enter the global open space. Therefore, we are almost the first in the country to launch an NFT project for young Russian artists and collectors who are ready to enter into a dialogue with the world.

7. Summary/manifesto of your Space (~500 words). What is your unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

DiDi Gallery is an exhibition space that curates exhibitions, private collections and educational activities about underground Soviet art and contemporary Russian art. We wanted to make a step forward metaverse by preserving our expertise, taste and values which helped us to stay on the Russian art market for so long.

Our activities in the real world are evolving. Over the past 5 years, a community of young artists has formed around the gallery and we actively involve their works in group projects, auctions, and charity events. This is a new generation of artists who thinks not only about the possibilities of the material and opposes the strong academic tradition in Russia (like the old generation of artists), but this new generation of thinkers tries to speak about social and universal problems in a visual language. They shape the artistic environment in Russia participating in major museum exhibitions and local projects. We encourage them to transform and enter not only a new platform, but also start working in new techniques, use a new language.

Over our 20-year history, we have gone through a gradual transition from the popularity of painting by artists who fought in a formal and conceptual way against the Soviet official ideology to the new media. Previously, in the early 2000s, we were not only a part of a newly formed market, but we also influenced it, giving investment value to the whole new layer of art, which continues to grow in price in the local and foreign markets. Now we want to take a step into the future together with the artists. We want to represent a whole community in the metaverse. We would like to convey that art always has an intention to be global. And just as many artists of the 1990s, after the collapse of USSR, became a diplomatic bridge between Russia and the West, in the same way we would like to become part of the world community now, showing that those values and ideas, problems and feelings of this world are common and can unite more people than before. By expanding physical and political boundaries, with our meta-exhibitions we would like to resist internal politics and widespread censorship and restrictions, providing space for previously unthinkable freedom for both artists and ourselves!

8. Describe you/your team’s experience curating and promoting artwork:

As it was already mentioned (see above and below) we have extensive experience in the artistic environment.

Revaz Zhvania - founder and owner of the gallery, art dealer

Anzhelika Urusova — curator, art manager of the gallery, has extensive experience in curating exhibitions and collections in the museum environment

Zarina Akhmetzyanova — art manager, curator and expert in the field of contemporary art in St. Petersburg, collaboration manager

9. Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc:

DiDi Gallery has been fully functioning since 2003. Every year it hosts from 10 exhibition projects, participates in the international fairs (COSMOSCOW, DaMoscow!). The gallery is engaged in the sale of Soviet unofficial art and contemporary Russian art, provides services for the examination and evaluation of private collections, as well as art-dealer services for high-level private collectors. Despite the fact that the gallery specialises in rare and collectible art of the 20th century, the gallery is active in the field of contemporary art as well, trying to work with authors at the very beginning of their career and bring them to a new level. For these purposes, the gallery has an online store where you can buy young Russian authors from large cities and remote regions with delivery anywhere in the world. https://store.didigallery.com

However, we are always open to the modern dynamic world, so among the gallery’s projects are participation in external exhibition projects of public and private museums, collaboration with medium and small local businesses, free educational activities with the involvement of university experts and mediators.

In our activities, we try to find a balance and attract figures with completely different backgrounds, showing that art and taste are an investment, first of all, in yourself, in the standard of living and self-education!

Also, 4 times a year, the gallery organises auctions, allowing not only to expand the pool of authors, but also to make art available.

One of the latest auctions was the “This and That” auction - a charity auction in favor of studios working with creative people with autism spectrum disorders. Three organisations provided the works of their wards!

More information about the activities of the gallery can be found in the English version of the site:

ArtFair Cosmoscow2020:

10. Are there new artists you’d like to bring into your Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

One of our conceptual goals is to enable artists, who are already defining the local art-environment around them, to smoothly transition into the metaverse. Therefore, most of our artists are “analogue” authors with whom we work within our physical space or through other forms of collaboration. We have a pool of artists who regularly represent us at art-fairs and exhibit in the gallery. With them, we plan to build an exhibition plan for Superrare, involving other digital-creators collaborating with them.

We are also interested in discovering local talents: motion designers and digital artists who have not yet had the financial or organizational opportunity to enter big NFT-marketplaces.

Among them:

Pavel Pletnev is a St. Petersburg based author from Omsk, a participant of the exhibition project in the State Russian Museum “Millennials in Contemporary Russian Art”, the international art-fair «COSMOSCOW» and many projects of the gallery. The author explores the problems of urbanization and the Soviet architectural heritage in Russia, reflects on the new Russian social and cultural memory, works in the genre of micro-installations.

Nika Qutelia is a Russian-Georgian digital artist, musician and creator of the first NFT-artworks for our gallery project «MIRACLESS». Kutelia works with images of the sensuality in the context of corporality and New Sincerity. Presented at venues: Foundation https://foundation.app/@nikvsio
Login • Instagram

Katerina Alimova is an artist and ceramist, shoots videos, makes installations using different media, performer. Alimova works with the problems of national memory and the collective unconscious, revealing entire cultural layers in her surrealistic and eccentric manner. Old architecture, artifacts of time, personal and public history are captured by her in clay and video.
Her works are sharply political.

Vladislav Mukhanov is a young St. Petersburg artist who builds an image of an ecological utopian future. In his works, he combines the techniques of galvanoplastics and 3D printing, exploring possible ways out of the ecological disaster and reconciliation between man and nature. Presented at Opensea

We are at the stage of negotiations with the rest of the artists, however, if we are accepted to the site, we will be ready to launch three projects in a row within a few weeks.

Status: committed to participating, preparing a project

We do have projects which are in the planning stage, however, we cannot disclose details in open sources by agreement with the authors

12. If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

If selected, our first exhibition can be launched within max. 20 days

13. Please provide any additional details about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of releases, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

Since the gallery conducts regular exhibition activities, dozens of artists pass through us - about 14 projects a year, we are aimed at the same intensive work in SuperRare - to continue to engage in permanent involvement of artists from St. Petersburg, Moscow and remote regions of Russia to statements and self-expressions. We take this activity seriously and consider SupeRare as one of the most prospective platforms. We plan about 5-6 projects per year with a frequency of once every 3 months here.

Now we have ideas for 3 exhibition projects and one collaborative exhibition. One of them will be devoted to sensual and emotional memory, expressed in the ephemeral digital works of Nika Qutelia. Another exhibition is planned with a young St. Petersburg artist who reflects on the “monsters” of our time: toxicity, ugliness, discrimination, ignoring among people society in the city. The project is planned using AR technologies, which will be transferred to Instagram and become a promotional campaign for the project around the world.

Number of artworks will vary from 6 to 12 NFT-artworks for an exhibition in the Space.

14. How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

Primary:

50 % (after gas and related fees) - to an artist(s)

50 % (after gas and related fees) - to the gallery, including marketing, promotion, advertizing, technical support, documentation

Secondary:

30% - to an artist (split if there are some authors)

70 % - to the gallery (25% to managers)

15. To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

We see two important aspects of this issue.

Firstly, blockchain and NFT are technologies, behind which the future lies in almost all areas of the economic and business spheres. In the world of art, where the problem of authorship and copyright, provenance comes first - especially! Blockchain technologies will very soon allow a completely different look at the legal basis of many transactions and agreements between actors in the art world. Blockchain is a new opportunity for authors to assert and protect their copyrights, and, accordingly, for galleries - to make the process of buying and sells more transparent. For photography, video art, blockchain technology and NFT will become reliable tools that allow you to show and sell your works around the world on easy basis of a smart-contract.

CryptoArt - the heir of the already middle-aged digital art. It will become even more popular. It is unlikely that the laws of the art market will change much, because crypto art is the same art, namely the ability to express oneself and speak out either through its creation or through acquisition. However, a successful and reliable financial model, the possibility of reliable investments will attract serious and well-known in the physical world artists.

We would also like to add that the existence of such global platforms as SuperRare and other marketplaces is an absolute opportunity for freedom of speech and social criticism. It seems to us that in addition to visual experiments, there will be many social projects that, perhaps in the future, will be able to make a difference in promoting, discussing and solving global problems!

16. If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

Ice cream with mango, because the combination of cold, sweet and juicy taste on a sunny day can take you to an unknown, controversial and unpredictable mood. Our Space will be the same — opened to discussion and different opinions, but also fun and peculiar. It will make you think you are in a better world than it really is just the way ice cream with mango does.

17. Anything else you’d like the community to know/consider?

Thank you for your attention to our application! We will be truly grateful for any feedback and suggestions from SuperRare experts and community members. We are just starting our journey in NFT, however, we are very open to new experience and opportunities. Our big dream and goal is to be in dialogue with people who share our aesthetic views and ideals. NFT-artworld is a place of equality and trust, we want to share our view of the world except of establishing its monopoly!

Summary/manifesto of your Space. What is the unique value prop / elevator pitch? What type of art will you focus on? How will your Space stand out among the crowd?

Spectrum will help artists to reach a bigger audience and build a collector base. We will present a collection of high quality artworks from diverse artists and genres. We will take an advisory role for artists and collectors if needed and we will educate more people on art and encourage more artists and collectors to join the space.

Spectrum will bring to the forefront high quality art, using our teams high quality aesthetic and diverse taste and also experiences in the art industry from past 15 years to showcase incredible talent, undervalued artists and hidden gems from all across the globe.

Every piece sold in our space will also be displayed in galleries in the metavers.

We we will offset our created NFTs. It’s important to us that artists in our space feel comfortable about their work and their created NFTs. Artists should be proud of their work and the mediums they choose to sell their work without any fear of backlash from people outside of the NFTspace.
We have found this platform Aerial – Offset Your NFTs to do it, but are totally open for suggestions and will keep researching ourself.

Describe you/your team’s experience organizing exhibitions, making art sales, running auctions, networking with collectors, etc.

We curated two exhibitions in two galleries in the metavers one by invitation and one by application.

In both galleries it was our focus to just show works that were still available for purchase, we contacted and promoted on social media.

Are there new artists you’d like to bring into the Space in the first six months? What is your relationship to them?

There are several. We all meet through art or through communication in the NFT space or Mari and Archan know them from their long work experience. We will bring artists in our space that bring the quality, the creativity and the determination that we want to see on Super Rare. We are collectors, supporters, but first and foremost fans of their work.

Are there any artists already in the CryptoArt space that you are planning to work with for this Space? Have they committed to participating yet?

We will onboard 10 artists for our launch.

If selected, how soon could you launch your first exhibition?

We could launch our first exhibition mid of April.

Please provide any additional details you can about how you plan to operate this Space; e.g. cadence of exhibitions, auction strategy, number of artworks, other ideas for promoting your art and artists, etc.

-We will promote our space through our social media channels and display the collection in galleries across the metavers.

-We will have twitter spaces for interviews with artists and collectors and promote upcoming drops as well as a newsletter to keep anyone that chooses to receive it to be updated on newest drops and onboarded artists.

-The cadence of exhibitions is firstly dependent on sales, we focus on giving a good service to onboarded artists first. Our approach is quality over quantity, but we will create a constant output. Auction strategies will be developed in collaboration with the artists, we will advise and review to get the best results.

How do you plan to structure commission rates for the artists who release in your Space?

We will take a 10% commission for the provided services. The Super Rare treasury will receive 5% and the artist 85%.

The spectrum treasury funds will be solely used to reinvest and grow the spectrum space. The founders agreed not to take anything out for themself.

To you, what is the importance of NFTs as a medium/technology? Where do you see the NFT and CryptoArt space in five years?

NFTs will be basically everywhere. NFTs will be used as tickets, to reward customers in various ways, they will be used more and more for funding creative projects like films and books and will verify identities to access all kinds of services.

NFT sales will replace most of the art sales today. We will have a lot of custodians that will hold physical paintings, and ship out on demand by the NFT holder. When it comes to trading NFTs will be the number one solution.

Almost all value exchanges will be recorded on a blockchain in the future. The same goes for art. Also we will see the technological possibilities explored more. Data driven changing art and generative art are a great example, but only the beginning.

If your Space were a cocktail or a dish, what would it be and why?

It would be a fishtail, art is all about experimenting and exploring so why fit in one bracket… let’s have fun and broaden our horizons.

Anything else you’d like the community to consider?

Not really… lets create amazingness and elevate art and culture through blockchain.
